The game gets back into a groove

Author's Note: this chapter is a bit shorter than I'd like it to be. I also overslept so I'm posting this late. Don't worry next week we'll have a decently sized chapter. How do you guys feel about these weekly updates? I could potentially post these quicker but that means dipping into the backlog more often.

Liam grabbed the die and rolled, taking his turn. He got another 6 and landed on a trap card. He took his card and read it.

Alice was still sucking when her turn came around. She grabbed the die and rolled. It was a 4. Again Tina read out her card.

Again all of them were shunted into another plane of reality. This time they were on a weird property with a bunch of structures. Each of them were at their own structure. None of them were wearing protective gear. Again a large flaming number counted down before they started.

Liam instantly ran for no man's land. He was rewarded by being hit constantly by the other players. Still he was able to dodge enough to get to a structure in the middle.

Tina and Alice instantly booked it for Sophia's structure. They shot at each other while they were running and mostly missed. Still they also got hit by some of Liam's wild shots.

When Tina and Alice got to Sophia's structure Sophia tried to stand her ground for a second or two but as she got overwhelmed she quickly ran. She eventually hit a part where two walls intersected and was cornered. At that point the two women just unloaded on Sophia until they literally ran out of ammo. Sophia tried to fire back and hit them a bunch but not as much. Once they noticed they ran out they both ran away as fast as possible.

Sophia decided to focus down Alice. She ran after her and shot her up a bunch. Alice eventually tripped and hit the ground, giving Sophia an opening. Alice had one trick up her sleeve though. She grabbed some dirt from the ground and threw it at Sophia, blinding her. Then she grabbed the paintball gun while Sophia was coughing. She was able to remove the ammo chamber and threw it far away. They both scrambled for it. Sophia was quicker but she realized she didn't know how to reload the gun. By the time she was able to insert it Alice was long gone and Sophia was far far away from the action.

Sugartits spent almost the entire fight behind her structure. She laid down some covering fire to slow down Liam's approach but eventually as he closed the distance she had to run to another structure. The entire game became cat and mouse. Eventually she lost sight of him. When she turned the corner to run again she saw that she was directly behind her.

A moment later all of them were back in the game room.

“I'm about to get two traps, one of which is probably insanely destructive,” Sophia said. “And you want to complain about fairness?”

“Okay, it says first we each just take a trap for not getting first,” Sugartits said. “Then it says we take our proportional trap.” Alice went first.

“You can now have two individual rules at the same time. A random player will decide on your second one, but instead of choosing it will be the first thing that pops into their head.” Suddenly Liam spoke up.

“Alright, alright,” Sugartits said. “Let’s get going. I got class early in the morning.”
