The first princess

"It seems you have nothing else to add to your answer. Yes, that is correct. Irissa, the first princess, married the future emperor. While she did not sit the throne, she had skills that were useful throughout his reign, as well as the reign of her son. She had been raised to rule while he, rising suddenly during the war, was suited to the battlefield and little else. His conquests were significant, and were absorbed by the empire thanks to the diligent work of his empress.

"The second sister, however, was unhappy with her father's choice of successor. She attempted to start a civil war, but fell quickly to the might of her sister's husband. She was captured alive, bound, and sold off to an allied nation as one of many concubines to that nation's king." She looked at the twins. "Allow me to show you what befell her from there."
