The first day of college.

It's a big day, and nobody should have to start it alone. You get out of bed with Ashley even though she has to be at her college earlier than you do, so you and Tibby can help her get past her last-minute jitters. To tell the truth, you're nervous about going to college too. You didn't pick the easiest major, and your old man has high expectations for you.

After a simple but tasty breakfast Ashley dons her tall white ears proudly, pulls her tail into position, and applies some light makeup. She looks cute in the practical clothes she pairs with it, but tough as well, like she can stand up for herself. She checks her backpack one last time to make sure it has everything she needs, and you do the same for your messenger bag.

When that's done you and Tibby take Ashley's hands and leave the apartment together.

The car comes to a stop a block from the biology department. You want to go in with Ashley, or at least take a look at the campus together, but you know you wouldn't be doing your bunny a favor. Anyone who saw you together would see a student who is here with his pet, not a student who is here with her owner. It would just add another preconception to the list of hurdles she'll have to overcome if she wants to make people take her seriously.

So you just wish her luck, say your goodbyes, and let her walk the rest of the way by herself. To prevent yourself from worrying too much about Ashley, you drive Tibby to the engineering department where you will be studying. Since you have the time you give Tibby a tour of the building and explain how everything works (everything you understand, that is), giving her an idea of what college is about and what you'll be doing here.

Like you expected, everyone who sees you assumes you're just showing your pet where you'll be studying. It's a good thing you didn't do this with Ashley, but Tibby doesn't mind and her presence helps break the ice when you meet your fellow students.

But your first class is starting soon, so you head back to the car and drive Tibby home. At the door to your apartment she hugs you, tells you to have fun studying, and reminds you that she loves you before sending you on your way again.
