Chapter 5 by gmbynight gmbynight

Round 1?

The first bet is on

Rosa decided arbitrarily that she would be the first player. Everyone rolled their dice and looked at them in secret.

Rosa:
1 blue
3 purple
1 black

Robert:
1 blue
2 purple
1 gold
1 black

Autumn:
2 orange
2 blue
1 red

Claire:
2 orange
1 red
2 gold

Johnathan:
2 red
1 purple
1 gold
1 black

Total:
orange - 4
blue - 4
red - 4
purple - 6
gold - Robert - Clairex2 - Johnathan
black - Rosa - Robert - Johnathan

"3 Purples" Rosa started strong.

"4 Purples" Answered Robert, staying safe.

Autumn had no purples, so tried and change colors, putting a purple and an orange card face down in front of herself. "4 Oranges"

"5 Oranges" The numbers were starting to get high, but having 2 oranges herself felt safe.

Johnathan had no oranges, he needed to change colors quick, but what... purple was his best bet as four were already counted for. "5 Purples" He put down an orange card.

It was back to Rosa. She thought for a bit and finally shouted. "6 Purples"

"I smell hesitation... Could Ay be smellin' a liahr? I think I could!" Robert tried to captivate the rest of the group with the bad pirate speak, but the only thing he got was a light elbowing from his girlfriend. Everyone revealed their dice and they tallied the number of purples. Exactly six.

Robert had to draw a Purple card, a Gold one and a Black one:
Drowning in low waters: Every time the player wants to change colors, they have to show, then remove, a die of their choice from their cup.
Shared boat, shared pain: Keep this card when drawn. At any moment the player can choose to discard this card share the effects of one of their orange, blue or red cards with another player. The effect of that card will be of reduced intensity for both. The second player will not get any cursed doubloons from that card.
Twice as strong: If one of the drawn cards this turn is a orange, blue or red card then their effect will be twice as strong. If there are multiple the player can decide which card is affected.

Not so bad for a punishment, thought Robert. And, having lost the turn, it was his time to start.

What's next?
