The first attempt.

The scene transitions over to a nice and peaceful park you imagined from a movie you once saw. There was a nice looking fountain and and beautiful flower decorations everywhere. The grass was well kept and clean, not a singly piece of litter in sight.

Faceless people were walking around, going about their day, giving the illusion that the park was populated.

You were congratulating yourself on a job well done with this place as Bella looked around in fascination and wonder. "We had a park like this in our town?" She asked, eyes wide in pleasant surprise.

You didn't answer her, instead laying down a picnic blanket and a basket full of food. You sat down and looked over to Bella with a smile as you pat the open space next right next to you.

Bella absolutely gleamed at the sight, patting her skirt before laying her feet down next to you.

Your eyes lingered on Bella's wonderfully sexy legs, but you focused yourself on making sure the scene plays out smoothly.

You didn't actually have any food in the basket, it was mostly just there as background decoration to set the idea of a picnic date. Bella either didn't notice or didn't care that you two weren't going to be eating anything, as she gazed at you with a loving admiration.

"I really appreciate everything that you're doing for me John... I felt like I definitely needed this..." She sighed pleasantly, "I haven't been doing well these few years. My life's been a mess lately."

You placed a hand on her thigh, causing her to blush as she looked at you. You gave her a reassuring smile. "Don't worry about any of that boring stuff. Just have fun and relax."

She smiled back, placing a hand on top of yours.

"Nice work, John! You've completely convinced her to let you total control over her dream world!" The other John showed up out of nowhere behind her to give you a thumbs up, "Now she's the one going along with everything you want to do!"

OH SHIT, WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT IDIOT DOING?!

You panic, wondering if the bastard interruption was gonna ruin the entire script and all of your plans!

He calms you down by saying, "Don't worry! She can't hear or see me. I'm not gonna mess up a single thing."

Oh thank god...

"Sorry for coming up out of the blue, but I figured now was the time to tell you that this was the perfect opportunity to plant some suggestions into her head while she's **** and open!" He explains, "See, you gotta somehow get it into her head to stop worrying about this Samantha chick. Convince her that Samantha's not in her life anymore or something. The hard part is going to be somehow mentioning this to her without accidentally triggering her Inner Demon to spawn. Most people don't like to confront their problems head on, so you'll probably need a couple of tries in order to get it right."

Okay... So, plant the idea in Bella's head that Samantha's not in her life anymore so she doesn't have to be paranoid about anyone cheating on her anymore. Seems simple enough...

How are you gonna do that without causing her to freak out and summon her Inner Demon though?

"So... John... Um..." Bella started off, looking to the side as she smiled to herself, behaving like a cute and shy schoolgirl. "What... Um... What made you start having a crush on me? You never shown any interest in class back then... So... I was just wondering when this started..."

Right, gotta stick to the script first and foremost. You absolutely cannot let this fall apart.

You scratched your head awkwardly and pretended to be the shy school boy in this love story. "Oh... You know... The more I've gotten to know the real you, the more attracted I got... There's something about you that I find irresistible, you know? It took all my guts just to work up the courage to ask you out, so I'm really glad you said yes!" You nervously laughed, getting into character pretty easily.

Honestly, the person you're trying to act as isn't far off from how you would normally act in real life. You generally were a shy person, and before all this dream stuff happened, you weren't exactly confident in getting ladies to like you.

Technically, you still aren't since you'll forget everything that happens here everytime you wake up.

"I'm really flattered..." She twiddled her thumbs as her face grew more red as each second passes. "Y-You really find me irresistible? You mean that?"

"Of course I do... I definitely do." You smiled at her, before scooching up closer to her until your faces were just inches away from each other.

She became giddy and got closer as well, your two heads nearly touching each other.

So far, so good... Now, let's see if this was a good time to dip some ideas into her brain.

"I want you to know that you don't ever have to worry about me leaving you for someone else." You started off, "I really do like you a lot."

She frowned, "...someone else?"

"Yeah. I promise I'll stay by your side no matter who or what gets in the way." You reassured her, holding her cheek in your hand. "So don't ever worry about that, okay?"

"Y...You promise?" She stuttered, "You won't ever leave me, right? John? You said that you promised, right?!"

Oh shit, you did something wrong.

Instead of reassuring Bella, it seemed like your move caused her to act up. She's looking at you with desperation in her eyes and was starting to breath erratically.

"I like you too! So please remember that!" She held on tightly to your hand. Way too tightly, to the point where it almost hurts. "I'll make you happy! We can even start a family if you want! Or we don't have to if you don't! I'll do anything you want as long as you don't leave me for her!"

How the hell did she get so worked up so quickly?! You didn't even mention Samantha and already she was trying so hard to convince you to stay with her.

"Calm down! I promised already, didn't I? I won't leave you!" You tried your best to calm her down, but nothing was working. In the end, it was too late.

She grabbed and violently pulled on your arm, "I'll prove to you that I can be better than her! I'll do anything you ask me too! I can take care of you and comfort you everyday! So please don't leave!"

You try to pull back and tell her again, "Bella, I just said-"

Everything got quiet. Too quiet. To the point where it was deafening.

The clouds start shifting and covered the sun, making everything darker and gloomy.

Your vision became hazy again. Bella looked over at the fountain with terror in her eyes.

Shit, you accidentally summoned it here! The damn thing was stealing control away from you and was fucking the dream up into a nightmare like last time!

You looked over at the fountain to see the incarnation of sex and beauty itselfthe monster that's been ruining Bella's life.

The goddess gestured you over with her fingerIt convulses and whips it's black tendrils around, "Oh Joooohn, c'meeeeeeere! I have two big juicy gifts for you that I know Bella doesn't haveHe promised me he wouldn't leave. He promised that he was in love with me and only me. So why did Oliver still break up with me? Why would he lie to me?"

You stared longingly at her giant breasts as they bounce around and entice you inAw god damn it, not this again! Hey, snap out of it!

"I'll make you feel good and special aallll ovveeeerrI wasn't good enough. He lied and left me because I wasn't good enough. I'm never good enough."

You began to walk towards theOH FUCK NO YOU AINT, SIT YOUR ASS BACK DOWN AND GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF

SNAP OUT OF IT YOU FUCKING LOSER, THERE'S NO WAY YOU'RE GONNA LOSE THIS DAMN THING- I WILL PERSONALLY BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF YOU AND SHOVE ROTTEN EGGS DOWN YOUR THROAT, SO FUCKING

You snapped yourself out of it, and quickly looked away. Thinking fast, you scooched over in front of Bella to **** her to look at you instead of her nightmare.

"Hey, Bella, let's go see a movie together." You offered, taking her hands and pulling her to stand up.

You kissed her on the cheek and imagined everything back to normal, forcing the clouds to part and for the sounds of the fountain and people bustling to return.

Not expecting the sudden kiss, she was caught off guard long enough for you to whisk her away from her Inner Demon.

Out of sight, out of mind. You look back at the fountain and see that the thing was already gone from her dream.

Sighing in relief, you hugged onto Bella tightly to comfort her, before changing the topic about movies, "I got tickets to this movie that I thought you might like. I hope you don't mind?"

"Oh... Uh... No, I'd love to see it with you." She murmered. She seemed dazed, like she didn't know what she was doing. But after a while, she was back to being all smiles and excited, like she completely forgot about what just happened.

That was a close one... Man, if you didn't take back control of her dream as soon as you did, Bella's emotions might have taken complete control over everything and it would have ended in another terrible nightmare.

At least you figured out what you did wrong. Bella doesn't seem to take empty promises very well, since one of her ex-boyfriends lied to her about his promises of never leaving her.

Okay, so now you know what not to do next time. Good.

Seems like the issue here isn't about abandonment, it's about Bella's self-image. She's not scared of someone leaving her for someone else, she's scared of someone leaving her because she wasn't good enough for them.

Alright, time for a second attempt. Boosting her confidence by making Bella think she's waaay better than Samantha.
