Chapter 77 by bastardlydastard bastardlydastard

What next?

The end of the day.

Laying your head back on a pile of furs, you think back on what you did today.

After a long period of work, you got your prisoners to obey minor commands without complaint, though anything more elicits a defiant response from both of them.

You took Cassandra many times throughout the day, your aim being to make her dependent on you for sexual release, and thus ensuring her loyalty.

You had intended to train them longer, but you found yourself feeling the effects of two days and a night without sleep.

You checked on Colter and Dorian, each of whom seemed to have made significant progress on their respective endeavors. You found Colter threading the last few links of your mail shirt, and he told you it would be done by morning. Dorian was practicing an illusion spell when you found him, changing the color of a candle's flame.

As you drift into sleep, your thoughts soon become dreams.

In your dream, Angela the shopkeeper stands before you, and behind her stands the great shadowed form of a dragon. The both speak to you, and both say the same thing.

"When the tide comes in, you can either rise with it, or drown trying to turn it back."

You start awake.
