The date

After what happened the other day, the cop decided to let Eleanor go after questioning, putting the women on notice. Now they were on the next day, the two were going out to a fancy restaurant, and Alex was paying, setting off some strange alarms from nearby tables, AND Eleanor's brain. It's not because people became super sexist again, it's because a man having a job is unheard of in modern day. Once again, not because of gender, but because the new forms of women led to several solarpunk-esque advances and a massive reduction in the workforce. Now, those with jobs are those doing it as a hobby or for the life experience. There isn't even money anymore, the world is funded by points that each person is given, allowing the world's governing bodies to accurately measure what is needed more in demand and to stem the excessive demands of a failed society running off pure capitalism. Sure, Alex could pay for dinner, but most things people do for extra points are exhausting. There are enough points given to a person to live out a full and happy life, filled with activities and even travel, but to go to a restaurant like the one Alex and Eleanor went to would mean one of them was either super high up in some sort of job or they saved up their points for decades. So, for Alex to say he'd be paying caused everyone to pause, including the waiter; they just assumed Eleanor was living a super successful life and treating her pretty boy toy/potential lover (They didn't know the relationship, obviously). Thus, everyone thought Alex was crazy or that they weren't hearing things right, especially Eleanor whom had a second look at the prices.

Eleanor tried to dissuade Alex, saying how even she couldn't pay for that place, but Alex assured her it was okay, showing off by tipping the waiter handsomely, allowing everyone to see the green light and hear the positive ding sound. The two then dined, ordering such expensive steaks and wines despite Alex seeming displeased, paying quickly before taking her out to a secret black market store, eating ethically-sourced anthro rabbit and anthro lion. It wasn't the exoticness that made it tasty, it was the chef, he revolutionised the dishes, and although Alex had better, given the location, it was a great dish to share with Eleanor, and it didn't take much convincing once specifics were involved about how tribes sell off their dead since they didn't develop societal beliefs about their dead.

That food part kinda threw Eleanor off, but Eleanor still kissed Alex on the forehead before heading inside, noticing as Alex disappears once she looks away.
