The conference begins

"Good morning, all of you, and thank you for coming." Pepper stood on a staircase, a few steps higher than the assembled reporters and photographers, so she could see them all easily, "I know you have a lot of questions about my new role as CEO..."

"Do you think you're qualified to run a billion dollar..."

"How far is the pay gap between secretary and..."

"Is your rumoured romance with Tony Stark a factor..."

Pepper blinked at the sudden shouts of questions, she held up her hands to gesture for quiet,

"And I will answer all of your questions, but first I'd like to show you some of the work we're doing here at the company."

Pepper took an ID card from her pocket, the swipe key to get her into the other rooms. She stepped down and walked past the reporters to get to the door, keeping a confident smile on her face, even when she card slipped from her fingers and fell to the floor.

"You'll see..." she bent over to retrieve it, "we have nothing to hide..."
