Sandy Wood, the SPCP representative for the Cerulean Beach region, had received an out-of-season registration request from Cerulean Clinic for a transgenic pet. So she will have to plan a visit to the Star family because it was their youngest daughter Gaby the request was about. She had tested as a PH-2, specifically a fish-type.

She knew the Star family because a few years ago they had adopted another fish-pet. That one had been a PH-1, but after seeing how they had transformed CAT's showcase tank into a pool for Miranda she had a good feeling about their ability to house and accommodate a PH-2 pet. 

Besides CAT had been regularly subcontracted by Build-4-Pets to assist in the renovation of houses to be adapted for aquatic pets. When she paid a visit afterwards everybody had nothing but high praises for their work.

But that will have to wait for now because she made it a matter of pride to have a sort of visiting hours at the PCI so people visiting the PCI could talk to her in person and she could also interact with the pets at the PCI.

Ginger POV

The day started like many other days for Ginger by opening the CAT front store for the public.

I’m Ginger Harris, Store Manager at CAT.
At least that is how I’m listed on the CAT payroll.
This means I’m actually responsible for just about everything concerning the off-the-shelf store in front of CAT. Most of the time however I’m wrapping up sales of off-the-shelf products or ushering people through to Amanda for larger custom tank commissions.

CAT specialized in custom tanks from its inception. But because of the increasing demands for smaller ready-made tanks Amanda and Mathew had started this store attached to it.
And in one go utilized the corridor connecting the store to the hangar (the tank shop) to house some office spaces. Among which was Amanda’s office.

They obviously needed someone to run the store… so enter me.
Fresh from college, at that moment my knowledge of fish was limited to “they swim in the water and have fins”, looking for my first job. I don’t know why my name popped up… but hey they gave me a break and a chance to prove myself.
Now years later I've picked up a lot of stuff working at CAT and only specialized questions can still faze me.
Maybe the fact that I’m a redhead like everyone else at the time played a role too… I don’t know.

Usually Miranda, the PH-1 family pet, is here too. Though she’s more of a hostess to the people visiting CAT.

Then suddenly, I'm pulled out of my contemplation when the phone rings.

“Cerulean Acrylic Tanks, with Ginger. How can I help you?”

“Hi Ginger, this is Sandy Wood of the SPCP. Can I talk to Amanda or Mathew Star?”

“One moment I’ll put you through to Amanda.”

Amanda POV

I was behind my desk in my own office.

Back when we were still dating and I still worked at Pets-4-Pets at Brontian Beach I was the saleslady who also did the paperwork.

So when we started CAT it was self-evident that I would manage the sales and the paperwork (though I can't remember there being this much at Pets-4-Pet) and he would be in charge of building the tanks.

I was working on the paperwork for the latest project when the phone rang.
It was the internal line from the store so I picked up and said “Yes, Ginger?”

“Amanda, I have Sandy Wood of the SPCP on the line for you.”

“OK, Ginger put her through.”

“With Amanda Star. Miss Wood, you wanted to talk to me?”

“Yes, just to inform you I’ll be passing by next Primeday at the start of the new quintara to talk about Gaby’s test and of course to Gaby herself too.”

I guess this is it. Gaby said that someone from the SPCP would come by one of these days.
