Chapter 7 by BobWeasel BobWeasel

Who is next?

The archer

With the warrior still busy, I could continue cutting through the backline. Charging at the archer, I leapt and CLANG! Seems he wasn’t entirely focused on the fight ahead as he managed to draw a sword and block my blade.

“Blast, Aleran is down! I’m going to carve you into ribbons, green scum!” the archer yelled as he swung down at me.

Quickly rolling out of the way and diving forward, I was soon in his guard as I slashed at the backs of his knees, his elbows, shoulders, anywhere without armor. He simply couldn’t keep up with the amount of attacks as I capitalized on my speed, the world seeming to move in slow motion. Soon he was panting, bleeding from a dozen cuts and over extended with a wild slash that allowed me to sink my dagger under his leather cuirass into his chest.

Falling to the ground, I stood triumphant and looked around. Glurk was bleeding heavily while Glark was already dead, the other runts were dead as the warrior was turning towards me, anger clearly visible. Feeling that discretion was the better part of valor, I grabbed the shiny dagger from the elf and quickly dove into the shadows once more, scrambling up to the second level as the leader finally cut down Glurk.

“Alinea! Aleran and Elphanis are down!”

“What happened?”

“Some sneaky fuck got past me, I’m sorry.”

“Tis no matter, I can have them back up in no time, Light permitting” and she moved over to the fallen elf starting to grasp at her necklace and begin chanting. The warrior had slumped down and was pulling rolls of bandages to deal with his own wounds.

Fight or retreat?
