The Wizard

Sue Storm realized something was wrong when a duck fell up past her window, and the Organic Nut Milk she was attempting to drink almost floated up out of the glass.

Moments later, every object and person not nailed to the floor began to rise. The Invisible Woman, who had spent more time in zero-g than most astronauts, swam through the air, using invisible **** fields to propel herself and knock furniture and furnishings out of the way. Ben Grimm was in the living room, cradling Franklin and Valerie to himself, prepared to shield them with his body if the gravity reasserted itself. Johnny Storm flew easily, leaving a trail of flames behind, as an alarm finally blared.

"It's the Wizard!" Reed said over the intercom. "He's reversed gravity around the entire Baxter Building. I'm using the gravitational generator to—"

Sue stopped listening. The Invisible Woman and the Human Torch were already making their way towards the roof. Johnny sped ahead of her, impetuous and hot-headed as ever, and by the time Sue Storm emerged she found him through fire at the armored, purple-clad form of Bentley Whitman, who was atop a large, circular purple platform that was obviously the source of the gravitic shenanigans. Lightning crackled from the Wizard's gauntlets and struck the Human Torch a glancing hit, forcing him to spin off in a flaming spiral.

"Johnny!" Sue shouted. The Wizard turned to look at her a moment before giant invisible hands grabbed his craft and broke it in two.

The villain fell, hard. He almost hit the roof, his antigrav boots kicking in at the last moment.

One of Sue's giant invisible hands smashed him down with bone-crushing ****, cracking his armor and forcing him against the cement.

"You dare," she said, righteous anger making her blue eyes blaze. "Attack my home? My family!?"

The mother bear had been poked. Yet it seemed that the Wizard had anticipated this.

A large circular plate affixed to his armor suddenly burst into life. A swirl of myriad colors washed over the plate, which caught and held the Invisible Woman's attention. She was aware, too, of a strange hum, melodic, almost like the ASMR videos she played to help her sleep. So fascinated was Sue that she barely became aware of the Wizard's crushed lips moving, the words dim in her ears.

"You are getting sleepy...sleepy...you are falling into a trance...deeper and deeper..."

Sue Storm blinked, suddenly barely able to keep her eyes open, legs unsteady. Her eyelids fluttered, her body suddenly so heavy.
