The Teacher's New Methods

Lianne felt like a misbehaving student being called from her class to the Dean's office. She knew this was serious - potentially career-endingly serious. So she wasn't too enthused to run into Priscilla in the corridor.

"This is all your fault!" the professor told the fairy angrily "My career may not have been perfect, but it was fine. Now I'm about to get fired thanks to your meddling!"

"Fired? Not on my watch!" Priscilla promised cheerily "I've arrived just in time to grant another wish, one that will ensure that doesn't happen"

"No, thank you. I'd prefer you just leave me to deal with this myself. Your help has got me into enough trouble as it is"

"Oh, don't be like that! Usually my clients need a few wishes to be granted before they start seeing the life changing results they desire. This is one you made earlier in your career when you confided in a colleague, and I quote, 'I wish the senior staff here would be more receptive to my ideas, and that I would be more open to my students suggestions'"

Priscilla waved her wand and vanished before Lianne had any further opportunity to complain. Moments later, the professor had reached the Dean's office . She entered to find a very upset looking Jenny sat wearing nothing but one of the colleges' sports jerseys', which was presumably the only thing to hand to cover her modesty, in front of a Dean who had a face like thunder.

"You have put me in an invidious position here, Professor Brown" Dean Wheatfield, a serious looking middle aged man with receding hair and a neatly trimmed beard, told Lianne firmly "Jenny has always been one of our best performing students but, given her behaviour today, I see **** other than expelling her with immediate effect. As you apparently encouraged her to act in such an unacceptable manner, it would seem your position at the college is also untenable. Before I take action though, I'd welcome your observations on the matter"

"Jenny was helping me teach the class" Lianne began to explain, fully aware of how ridiculous she sounded "This was all my idea, so whatever happens to me she shouldn't be punished. I can honestly say though, that is the most engaged I have ever seen my students. Jenny stripping might be an unconventional teaching method, but it is an extremely effective one"

The Dean considered this a moment, before his expression softened and became more thoughtful than disapproving.

"Perhaps I have been a little hasty here" he decided "I must admit, stripping a student for giving incorrect answers instinctively seemed completely wrong to me, but I have to be wary of becoming too old fashioned and not being willing to embrace new ideas. If you are saying this works, we could perhaps have Jenny undress in some of your other classes, too?"

"I have to say, she's excellent at it. The class responded extremely positively to Jenny stripping. I can't imagine this being so successful with anyone else"

"Thank you!" Jenny chirped brightly, having quickly gone from potential expellee back to star performer "I was a little **** to the idea at first, but, I must admit, it seemed to be rather well received"

"Very well, I am going to allow this teaching experiment to continue. However, I must be very clear that ONLY Jenny can strip for you. I can't have you undressing any other students, that feels like a slippery slope that is only going to end in a lot of complaints and unnecessary paperwork. Jenny, are you sure you are willing to continue to strip nude and perform humiliating forfeits to aid your classmates learning? It does seem quite a lot to ask from you"

Jenny paused for a moment. The prospect of repeatedly stripping, then doing whatever depraved things her classmates thought up for her while naked, should have been unthinkable, but for some strange reason, she was fine with it. She did feel there needed to be something in it for her, though.

"I'm happy to continue with this, but I would appreciate guaranteed extra credit each time I strip, whether I get all the way or not" she bargained.

"I'm sure that can be arranged" the Dean nodded.

"Also, I had an idea.."

Lianne braced herself. She was never the biggest fan of Jenny's ideas, but the Dean wanted to hear it.

"I just feel like, with only me stripping, there isn't much of a competitive element to these quizzes. I know you said you didn't want any other students taking their clothes off or carrying out naked forfeits, but what about Professor Brown? I'm sure a teacher vs student dynamic would keep the class intrigued, and it would give me a chance of winning, rather than just ending up like a naked loser whatever happens"

The Dean thought for a moment.

"I do like the idea. Professor Brown, is this something you would be open to?"

The very thought horrified Lianne, but something inside her was telling her not to dismiss her students proposal out of hand.

"Okay, we can try it" she nodded.

"Excellent" the Dean seemed fully on board with the concept now "Perhaps we can set something up on the stage in the main hall and invite any student who wants to attend. We could even encourage some local press to cover the colleges bold and cutting edge new teaching methods. What do you think?"

"Wow, that sounds exciting" Jenny beamed "I'd be honoured to be involved in such a prestigious event"

"Sure" Lianne added uncertainly, unable to believe what she found herself agreeing to here "Let's see how it goes"
