The Siren's Response

Yulia considers her options for a few seconds and then speaks, "I spoke to the salesman earlier and I learned something I think you and possibly the rest of the factions here should know," she says and the Siren nods, seeming intrigued.

"The weapons he's selling. They're powered by demon magic, he's set this up to cause this conflict and to try and help Levateinn return to Calumia. More importantly though he controls the weapons more directly than he makes it seem. If he's gone all the weapons become inert," she explains.

"How did you learn this?" The Siren asks.

"He told me because he wanted me to kill Maeva for him so Levateinn could return," Yulia explains.

"I don't know if that's true, but... If it is... I guess killing him would make the weapons no longer a threat, the war would return to a stalemate... Which I guess is better than being enslaved by the Sahuagin..." she responds obviously deep in thought.

"If we were to offer to kill Aqua... Would you be willing to help us do so and maybe help us fight the Leviathan afterwards?" Yulia asks.

"Probably... Unfortunately as long as the war remains none of the leaders will be willing to part with Levateinn's artifacts. They'll need their power to hold the stalemate so I can't offer you the Cloak... There's no way our queen would be willing to part with it since it would put us at a disadvantage against the Sahuagin and Mermaids anyway... Still if what you're saying is true, you'll have at the very least stopped us from being conquered and enslaved to the Sahuagin and that is definitely worth a reward. I am sure we'd be willing to help you with the Leviathan at the very least," she explains.

"Alright... So, we go kill Aqua and the Sirens help us get past Leviathan... That's the current plan?" Cherchiel asks and Yulia nods.

"Seems like it... Though maybe we should talk to the Queen and get a more specific promise in terms of help... or go ask the mermaids," Yulia suggests.

"I guess in the end all we're doing now is seeing who's willing to pay us the most..." Isalia says.

"Yep seems like we're mercenaries for the moment," Yulia agrees.

"Well let's go talk to the Queen for now and then we can go visit the mermaids," Cherchiel suggests and Yulia nods.

"We'd like to speak to your queen directly to ensure we won't get stiffed on payment if we do this," Yulia explains and the Siren nods. The three remaining sirens turning and leading the way through the winding path until soon they arrive at a wide open area. Multiple small fissures exist in the floor of the area and Sirens can be seen skulking around in them. Clearly they live in these fissures, difficult to spot, hidden and surprisingly defensible. In the middle there is a massive fissure creating a full on ravine that runs deep and the Sirens lead Yulia and the others down into it. In the Ravine it is dark. The only light being from strange bioluminescent creatures floating around. Casting the entire area in various shades of eerie light.

The Queen is found at the bottom of the Ravine, she's sitting on a seat made of packed clay. A gleaming spear laid on her lap and her entire body hidden beneath a full suit of black plate mail. The material doesn't seem to be metal, but it's unclear what it is made of. A purple cloak with soft fur lining the edges adorns her shoulders. A helmet covers her face as well, "Visitors..." she speaks upon seeing Yulia et al following the sirens. Her voice echoing creepily in the helmet and then again in the narrow ravine.

The Siren quickly explains their presence and recounts what was explained. The Queen raises a gauntleted hand to her helmet, "Kill Aqua and prevent the Sahuagin from winning this war, but in turn setting us all back to zero... It is preferable to our complete defeat I suppose... and in return you want us to help you defeat the Leviathan and move on to the next floor," she muses and then chuckles, "I consider these terms acceptable. I will in fact do you one better. I will lend you one of my agents to assist you in killing Aqua and if you wish it, she may accompany you further past this floor. I only ask one small favor to sweeten the deal on your side..."

"What is this favour my queen?" Yulia responds diplomatically.

"Instead of killing the Leviathan... You will subdue it. I will of course provide you the method by which to do so. Levateinn's pet is a potentially valuable asset if it can be tamed after all," she suggests.

"Subduing it will likely be much harder than killing it and there's no guarantee you'll be able to tame it," Yulia responds.

"Leave the difficulty of taming it to me, as for the added difficulty of subduing it without killing it, I am aware. Hence the added bonus of my agent to your cause. She will be quite useful I am sure. Of course I am willing to accept the initial deal as well if you don't think you're up for subduing the creature," she retorts.
