The Scoobies have yet another talk

"What do you mean, you let Anya get away again?" asked Buffy.

"Well, she was tricky, Buffy," said Willow. "I had her dead to rights and then she tricked me into wishing her away."

"She tricked you, Willow?" asked Buffy. "Somehow I find that hard to believe. You're one of the smartest people I know."

"Well, we do appear to be dealing with a vengeance demon here -- or as they like to call themselves, a justice demon," said Giles. "And the typical vengeance demon usually lives for at least a hundred years or more. It would be difficult to live that long and not pick up more than a few ways to escape would-be captors."

"Perhaps Ms. Rosenberg should carry these," said Wesley, placing a pair of metal handcuffs on the table.

"Seriously, Wesley?" asked Buffy. "That's your big solution to the Anya problem?"

"Well, if Willow had taken the precaution of attaching one of those handcuffs to Anya's wrist and the other to her own wrist, the vengeance demon would never have been able to use its wish-granting power to get away from her," said Wesley.

"There's something wrong with that logic," said Buffy, "but my head hurts too much right now to figure out what it is."

"Don't worry, Buffy," said Willow, as she gathered up the handcuffs and placed them in her purse. "I won't let Anya get away again. I promise."

"I know you won't," said Buffy. "Now can you answer me one question?"

"Sure thing, Buffy," said Willow.

"How did you manage to get dressed again before I returned to the library with your clothes?" asked Buffy. "I thought Anya had stolen your clothes when she magically transferred into my body? Did you get Cordelia to get you a new batch of clothes from home or something?"

"No," said Willow. "I found this neat spell in this old book Giles had in his collection."

"What's so neat about it?" asked Buffy.

"Hug me," said Willow.

"I beg your pardon?" asked Buffy.

"Hug me and find out," said Willow.

"Okay," said Buffy.

She reluctantly hugged her friend Willow and discovered...

"My God, Willow!" Buffy exclaimed. "You're still naked."

"Of course I am," said Willow.

"But I can see your clothes," said Buffy.

"It's an illusion, Buffy," said Willow. "For about two hours after I cast the spell, the spell creates the illusion that I'm wearing clothes. After that, the spell expires and I have to either re-cast it at the end of a 24-hour period or else change into regular clothes."

"Do you think that spell will work on me?" asked Buffy.

"Only one way to find out," said Willow.

Giles and Wesley watched in a bemused fashion while Willow went about an elaborate ritual that even Giles had trouble following.

And when the ritual was through, Buffy got out her compact and noted to her delight, "I'm wearing clothes again. And because they're not real clothes, the curse is not kicking in. Oh, Willow, I could kiss you."

"Well, that's nice, Buffy, but I must remind that the spell will only work for two hours a day," said Willow.

"Who cares, Willow?" said Buffy. "This means I can actually make plans to go to the prom, after all."

"But what about Anya?" asked Giles. "She's still at large, you know."

"Oh, who cares about Anya?" said Buffy. "As far as I'm concerned, this spell is all the proof I need to show me that my luck has finally changed."
