The Runaway

Morrigan Parker drove her father’s stolen car, tightly squeezing the steering wheel. She was pissed, tired, and done with her old life.

Done with her deadbeat father, who was gone most days, and drunk when present.

Done with her abusive mother, who blamed everything that went wrong with her life on Morrigan.

And done with her “friends”, who abandoned her when she needed them the most.

She needed to go away. It didn’t matter where, as long as it was far away from her old town.

“What the -?! No!” Yelled Morrigan, as the car’s engine started to make a most concerning noise. She stopped by the side, quickly looking under the hood. If only she knew how to fix the car.

“Great. Bloody great.” She moaned. The nearest town would be miles away, and the night would soon set. She needed help, fast.

So she stood on the side of the road, lifting her thumb, as a car rode by and ignored her.

And another one.

And then five more.

“Seriously?!” Complained Morrigan. ****, she took off her top, standing in her bra.

No success.

She took off her jeans.

Still no success.

So she stripped everything off.

“If this doesn't work, I give up." Sighed Morrigan.
