The Next Day

The next day, Kazuma was on his way to school as usual. While it seemed like an ordinary day on the outside, Kazuma’s mind was still thinking about what happened yesterday with Satsuki. That was incredible! He thought to himself. But what happens now? I guess I will find out soon enough.

As he approached Satsuki’s house, he saw her waiting for him outside, like she always did. But as he got closer and she looked towards him, he noticed something. Her face was slightly redder and it seemed like she was avoiding eye contact.

“Good morning, Satsuki,” he greeted as he drew near.

“Go…good morning, Kazuma,” she almost stammered in reply, her face growing slightly redder.

“Are… you ok?” Kazuma asked.

“I it’s nothing,” Satsuki deflected as she turned around and started for the school. Kazuma caught up with her and glanced to his side. Her face was still red and her eyes were trying to avoid his, though occasionally they would peek at him before darting back. The expression on her face made it clear. She’s embarrassed, Kazuma realized. It makes her looks kinda cute.

Kazuma decided to try and break this awkward moment. “Do you regret…” he began to ask but was interrupted by Satsuki. “No!” she exclaimed as she abruptly stopped moving. She quickly realized that she almost yelled that out and her face redden. “I’m sorry,” she apologized. “It’s just…, I don’t know. This is all so new to me.”
