The Name of the Game

"And they'd get this hangar, right? This hangar thousands o' feet underground, an' there's this U.F.O. wi' a pink alien in it..." Wee Hughie said. "'cause people think they're grey or green, right, but they're not. They're really pink, because it turns out aliens are gay... I was bricking' it, I mean I was looking at this website thinking 'jings, what if they get us onto their U.F.O. an' fruit us up?' I mean I'm not homophobic or anything, right, but--"

"I love you Hughie. You must be the only man in Scotland who actually says jings." his girlfriend, Robin, said.

"What'd you say?"

"You're the only--"

"Before that."

"Is it too soon to say that, or something?"

"Robin..."

"Am I gonna scare you off? Is that it?" Robin said. "I knew after a week, Hughie. Never mind a month."

Even with everything that happened afterwards, Hughie always remembered.

That kiss was like none he'd ever had before.

Meanwhile, four centuries from now, Relinda Franklin, descendant of the original A-Train, Reginald Franklin, witnessed her father kill her mother. Discovering that she had speedster like abilities similar to her ancestor, she killed her father in ****.

She was recruited by Vought-American as the A-Train of that time period. She was even provided with the same costume. However due to a lack of threats in the 25th century, Relinda began engineering threats to "save" people from. When she was caught, the company were **** to replace her.

After being defeated by the new A-Train, Reflinda discovered she could use her speed to travel back in time to 2006, hoping to replace the original A-Train in history. When this didn't work, she changed her costume, reversing the blue and white colours and became the Reverse-A-Train.

Unable to kill her ancestor without wiping herself out, she went back in time to when Reginald Franklin was a child, killed his mother and framed his father for the crime.

And this is how it began. A-Train was once again facing the Reverse-A-Train in Scotland. The problem with superhero fights is that collateral damage is simply impossible to avoid. So when Reverse-A-Train speeded into the fairground Hughie and Robin were in, people were going to die. But it wasn't Reverse-A-Train that did it. Trying to keep up with his foe, A-Train himself accidentally killed Robin by running her over with his super speed.

Hughie was stood there, holding his girlfriend's arms.
