The Mom Factor

Motherhood. It was a dream of Nadia’s back when she was a housewife. With Greg… Well… They’d been trying for years. Greg couldn’t cum. No luck. IVF and semen analysis was on the table. But they never got around to it.

Pandora’s box opened.

Then Greg devolved and so did Nadia. A never ending spiral into the shadows. But somehow when Nadia held baby Alice in her arms. Her warm coo. Then everything was realised. The feeling of giving all your love to someone and watching them grow. Even though it had only been three months.

Baby Alice was getting bigger and more active every week. Even a small tantrum when handing over to Katherine. Nadia was that good. Premium mom material.

“Oh my… She wants to spend more time with you Nadia,” Katherine said.

“What? That’s can’t be true…” Nadia laughed.

“It’s true… You have the Mom factor. I have to confess I’m not a babies or even kids person… I love Alice… She’s my kid… But I honestly can’t wait till she’s 21 and I can have a glass of wine with her on the yacht…” Katherine said.

Nadia laughed, “I love babies… isn’t that right baby Alice,” she blew a raspberry into Alice’s neck. Laughter and giggles.

Katherine smiled. But was jealous indeed.

“Any news from your friend Xiao Mei?” Katherine asked.

She had reassured Nadia that nothing suspicious happened on the Moorfield side. Xiao Mei was not to be touched.

“She is going back to China tomorrow… I won’t get a chance to see her,” Nadia sighed.

“Shanghai right?” Katherine said.

“Yeah? How did you know?” Nadia said.

“I booked your flights to Shanghai tomorrow… You need to see your friend,” Katherine said.

“What?!” Nadia nearly fell over.
