Chapter 8 by Zendle Zendle

Which group do we focus on?

The Martians: They have a surprise for Maxine, but she has a surprise for them too!

(originally authored by Snoogins)

Just when Maxine was wondering why she'd been spared, the Martian leader smiled and undid something approximating a fly on his green space suit. As his slimy alien cock tumbled out into the oxygen, Maxine knew the answer to her question, but the Martian felt the need to rub it in. "I sense that you are a person of some importance on earth!" The Martian said, his words being translated from the Gnardish Martian dialect. "If you wish to live, you will show me the proper respect and supplicate yourself before your new..."

"Just a moment, please." Maxine said. As the startled Martian watched in confusion, Maxine reached behind her head, undid something and then, to the astonishment of all, peeled off her skin, revealing a green, scaly skinned, but definitely female reptilian humanoid underneath. The Martian commandoes drew their guns immediately, but their leader stopped them at once before muttering "What are you?"

"You first." The reptile said. "I take it you're a Martian, but I would like to know your name, seeing as how you stripped me and killed all of my men and all that." The Martian thought for a moment before replying "...Thog... My name is Thog. I'm a Captain, and this was supposed to be a scouting mission. When we tripped your radar, we came down here to eliminate the witnesses."

"That was stupid of you." The Lizard replied. "If you didn't show up, we would have written you off as a glitch in the system. Now there's a whole dead platoon to account for."

"Excuse me, who are you?" Thog interrupted, losing his patience.

"I am a reptoid from a planet near a Star the humans call Sirius. We've been infiltrating this planet's human civilization for some time now, moving them into position for our final strike. I hope you don't plan on interfering, because that would end badly for you."

"Bah!" Thog spat. "My people have bee preparing for our war with the humans for ages! This planet will be ours!"

"Not likely." Maxine answered him, cooly. "You haven't even made it out of your own solar system, and you expect to make war against an intergalactic empire? I'd speak to a supervisor before I did that if I were you, Captain."

"You expect us to just back down!?" Thog shouted angrily.

"I expect you to realize the gravity of your situation." Maxine replied. "I'm working this side of the street, jack. Back off and find your own planet to pilfer!"

Grimacing, Thog turned and conferred with his men for a few moments before getting back to his scaly captive. "I will... confer with my superiors about this. You will come with us."

"I will do no such thing." Maxine replied. "I have better things to do with my time than be held captive by an incompetent captain who bungled a simple recon mission. Like, for instance, cleaning up your mess, so that the humans don't realize whats happened, because that would spoil the element of surprise for both of us now wouldn't it? Plus, my people would be most displeased if you kidnapped me."

"... Fine, but don't go far. This is far from over." Thog replied.

"Well, I'm not going to get very far without my skin." Maxine said.

Frustrated, Thog fumed. "Can't you just put it back on?"

"Not without mechanical assistance. And you don't look like you have one of my transformation pods lying around on your ship, do you?"

Grumbling again, Thog reached into his utility belt and pulled out a holographic image inducer and handed it to the reptoid. "Press the button at the top. It will cover you with the most recently stored image."

Wrapping the wristwatch like device around her wrist, Maxine pressed the button and was instantly covered with a hologram of her human disguise as it had appeared moments ago when the Martians took the picture... naked. "Great, this complicates things..." She mused.

"Yes, sorry none of my men were able to get a picture of you with your clothes on before we disintegrated them. I'm also sorry that our hologram technology is so primitive that any attempt to put on clothing would disrupt the image and reveal your true reptilian self. So, if you want to look like a human, I'm afraid your going to be stuck naked for a while. That shouldn't be too big a problem for a superior being such as yourself though, should it?"

Maxine gave Thog an icy stare and said "Your fly is open." Grumbling, Thog zipped up and returned to his ship. Just as the UFO disappeared, Maxine began to wonder about her next move. She'd have to call high command of course... and come up with a story to tell the human authorities... at least all of the witnesses were dead.

It did feel good to have her human disguise on again. She hid it well, but it was humiliating to be stripped down to her scales. At least now, when anybody looked at her, it would be those meaty mammalian hooters they'd be gawking at, not her lovely lizard lumps. As she continued to ruminate however, a voice in the near distance broke her from her solitude. Climbing out from under a pile of charred skeletons, a blonde haired female private came running towards the secretary. "So much for 'at least all of the witnesses are dead.'" Maxine thought.

"Madame secretary!" The private squeaked. "Private first class Tanya Toulard reporting for duty! What on Earth just happened ma'am!? What are we supposed to do now!? Are you all right!? Would you...uhm... like something to wear?"

"Oh cosmos, it's one of THOSE humans!" Maxine thought to herself. "All of that information is classified at this time, private." Which was true, mostly because she hadn't finished making up her explanations yet. "Just sit tight while I make a few calls... actually be a dear and fetch me a radio."

Tanya was about to comply when she stopped and looked at Maxine curiously. "Uhm... you sure you don't want to borrow my jacket or something? You don't want to be in your birthday suit when the president arrives, do you?"

"The President is NOT coming here, and as for the clothes... err... I'd rather not. They might be contaminated."

"Contaminated?" Tanya squeaked again.

"Yes, by interstellar radiation. No way to be sure, but better safe than sorry, right?"

With that Tanya took off looking for a means of communication. "Ugh... How in Sirius am I going to get out of this one with my sanity intact?" maxine thought to herself. A moment later, Tanya returned, now stripped down to her underwear and her gun belt with a radio in hand.

"This is going to be a long night..." The Reptoid correctly deduced.

Stick with these aliens or look at one of the other events?
