Chapter 6

The Mark of The Warrior

"OW!" Lauren squealed from the hard slap to her jiggling backside, turning to glare at the nurse. "Will you stop that already, you stupid James Cameron reject!"

"Clare! I'm sorry for ever doubting you!" Queen Win'Shaw whispered excitedly, bringing her sister into a one armed hug. "If this child bares The Mark of The Warrior, then she is the one who The Prophecy spoke of! She's the one who is to save our home planet of Glarestrux!"

"But what I want to know is why is she a child instead of an adult, like The Prophecy stated?" The male, suited creature asked aloud.

"I do have a few possible theories." Dr. Tal'Set replied, walking closer to examine the little woman who was still hanging upsidedown in the nurse's grasp. "Perhaps this may be the reincarnation of The Warrior, the previous one having perished in a scuffle on Earth."

"They do have a lot of civil wars..." Another creature, a male researcher, commented.

"Another theory is that we might have hit a time warp on our way to Earth." Dr. Tal'Set continued, "Thus, we picked her up before she reached Earthling maturity."

"Then it's settled then!" Queen Win'Shaw stated, clapping her hands together. "We'll bring her back to Glarestrux where she'll be raised to Earthling maturity and then trained to save our planet!"

"Excellent idea, Your Majesty!" The suited creature said with a bow.

"Hold on a second, Ted!" Dr. Tal'Set said suddenly, turning to The Queen. "Winny, this might be rushing a bit. Besides, you wouldn't even babysit our cousins when we were children. You expect me to believe that you're going to raise a human child in your palace?"

"Oh, I'm not going to raise her." Queen Win'Shaw said with a smug smile. "Welcome to Motherhood, Baby Sister."

"W-what?! Now hold on!" Dr. Tal'Set barked, pointing at The Queen as she stamped her foot. "I did not sign up for - "

"Look, if you people aren't going to kill, dissect, or eat me," Lauren interrupted, "can you at least take be back home?"

"Okay, I've been too quiet on this subject for a while now." A male researcher spoke up, "What in the name of The Ancient Ones is that child saying?!"

"Oh, right. The issue with the language barrier." Dr. Tal'Set began, briefly glaring at her smug faced sister. Taking a deep breath, she cleared her throat and said, "Fortunately, this was something I thought about in advance."

Without another word, the doctor walked over to the table and pulled out a large syringe filled with a pink liquid, making Lauren pale. She didn't like where this was going...

Dr. Tal'Set cleared her throat again. "This serum will alter her DNA so that she will be able to speak and understand our language, while still able to speak the native language of her own planet."

"Is it safe, Dr. Tal'Set?" Ted asked.

"Very safe." She responded, "I've tested this on a few Earth animals, and there have been no side effects what so ever."

Before Lauren could open her mouth to object, the nurse sat down on the examination table and placed the little woman over her lap. She pinned Lauren down with her arms as the latter looked up to see Dr. Tal'Set walking towards her chubby butt with the syringe in hand. Lauren tried to struggle free, but the nurse's grip was too tight.

"Don't worry." Dr. Tal'Set said calmly, "We'll explain everything afterward."
