Breaking the Language Barrier

Lauren squirmed desperately as Dr. Tal'Set readied the syringe, wiping Lauren's birthmark with an **** wipe before injecting the little woman with the serum.

"OW!" Lauren shrieked in pain as she felt a strange warmness run through her body, a sweet and salty taste in her mouth as her ears tingled. This continued for about a minute before finally subsiding. After the doctor removed the now empty syringe, Lauren looked over her shoulder with a glare. "What the hell was that?!"

"By The Ancient Ones!" Ted exclaimed, "It worked!"

"Of course it worked!" Dr. Tal'Set stated in response, annoyance in her voice.

"What wor-" Lauren began, only to go wide eyed as she realized that she understood those two perfectly. "Wait you two speak English?!"

"No, we do not." Dr. Tal'Set explained calmly, "I injected you with a serum that slightly altered your DNA so that you can understand and communicate with us. It's perfectly harmless, and you can still speak your native... 'Ing-Lesh', did you say it was?"

The nurse sat Lauren back down on the examination table. Lauren looked up and was just about to say something when she suddenly felt a cold breeze against her skin, reminding her of her nudity. The little woman squeaked and blushed scarlet as she immediately wrapped her arms around her measley bug bites and crossed her legs to cover her hairless womanhood, silently berating herself for shaving this morning.

"Greetings, Young Warrior!" Queen Win'Shaw exclaimed loudly with a smile. "I am Queen Win'Shaw Vee'Snar Xenon Tal'Set XXI! Sovereign Ruler of the planet Glarestrux in The Excalibur Nebula!"

Lauren blinked a few times and tilted her head. Queen "Who" from the planet "Where" in the "What"? And what did she mean by "young warrior"?

The doctor cleared her throat, causing The Queen to roll her eyes. "And this is my sister, Dr. Clare'Voy Sue'Dot Argon Tal'Set."

"Okay..." Lauren said with an awkward chuckle, looking around. "Clearly from the nurse constantly spanking me, and the shot that I got, I'm not dreaming. So, what was that you were saying about me being a warrior?"

"You have The Mark of The Warrior on your right buttock, don't you?"

Lauren blushed hard, realizing that they were referring to her birthmark. When she was younger, she had been told by her mother that it was in the shape of Rhode Island. Now, however, Lauren felt like it was now the size of Texas! "T-that's just a birthmark!"

"But your birthmark is The Mark of The Warrior." The Queen replied, "Which means that you are destined to save our planet from an invasion by our most dangerous enemy: The Blargtron Empire! As was foretold in our Prophecy."

"An invas- " Lauren began, bewildered. Shaking her head, the little woman replied. "I'm sorry, Queen... Your Majesty. I think you and your people made some kind of mistake. See, I'm not a warrior! I'm just a - "

"Yes. Yes." Queen Win'Shaw replied with a nod, "We know the situation. You are still just a child now, and are not ready yet. However, you will be living under my sister's care until you reach the age of human maturity. At that point, you will be trained properly to combat the threat."

"I still didn't agree to that!" Dr. Tal'Set groaned into annoyance.

"I'm your big sister and your queen." Queen Win'Shaw said with a smug grin, "****."

Lauren groaned as she closed her eyes. Why were these people not listening to her?! Suddenly, her eyes went wide as she realized something, replaying what The Queen had just said in her head.

"Nurse Quail'Lent!" Queen Win'Shaw addressed the nurse that had been holding Lauren by the ankle earlier. "You and Dr. Tal'Set take our champion down to the hygienics room for a bath and then to the medical bay to get her dressed."

"Yes, My Queen!" Nurse Quail'Lent responded with a salute.

"I... I'm sorry." Lauren stammered while looking up at The Queen, getting the latter's attention. "Did you just say 'Child'?"
