The Magical Girl Kumiko lookalike contest

"I entered a Magical Girl Kumiko lookalike contest. I spent months making a costume, and a good one if I do say so myself. But I went with a costume you once wore in your manga, hoping I could build up the courage to wear it. The contest is today, and I still couldn't bring myself to wear it. So when I saw a student with an classic Magical Girl Kimiko costume in her open bag, I couldn't help myself and just... took it."

"Kumiko, I swear you'll end being the only hero whose identity was uncovered because you couldn't be bothered to zip up your bag." Whispered Kitty flatly in her ear.

Kumiko simply hushed her animal mascot. "Tenko, you shouldn't have stolen that costume. I'd brought me into a lot of trouble today."

"I'm terribly sorry Magical Girl Kumiko." Tenko took a deep bow. "But why did that girl have your costume?"

"Oh, well... she's a friend of mine. She was supposed to deliver my costume to me near the school when Curb Stomper attacked."

Tenko couldn't even look her hero in the eyes anymore, but finally asked, "may I borrow your costume for the contest? I swear you'll get it back."

A deep sigh came from Kumiko. "Look, you stole my costume, which led to me having a horrible day. But since you showed courage defending your friend, and the shirt and skirt aren't crucial to my powers, I'll allow it."

"ThankyouThankyouThankyou!" Tenko rabidly hugged her naked hero. "You are the best hero ever!"

"Under two conditions!" Interrupted Kumiko, raising her finger. "One, you borrow me your homemade costume, so I have something to wear. And two, I get to watch the contest. I've gotten curious hearing you talk about it."

"Deal! I even have a spare cape for you. My gosh, this is amazing" The girl skipped out of the restroom.

"Sure this was a good idea?" Asked a concerned Kitty.

"It'll be fine. As you yourself said, only the hat, boots and gloves are essential for my powers."

"But if she somehow ruins them, I'll have to spent all night making a new costume!" Yammered the quokka.

"And heaven forbid you do any work at all." Kumiko rolled her eyes. "Speaking of which, here is my bag. Take it back home, since I won't be returning at school today." Kitty grabbed the bag with it's tiny paws, and flew out of the window.

"We're back!" Yelled Tenko. "Here is my costume." She threw it over the bathroom stall door.

"Thanks. Where's the rest?"

"The rest? I'm sorry, but this is it."

"But it's just...?"

"I told you, you wore it during a short story arc in your manga."

"I never even knew I had a manga until today!" Kumiko gulped, and put on her costume. She opened the door, and asked, "How do I look?"
