The Magic Begins
Stepping through the gates to Main Street Jodie took a deep breath, smelling vanilla, backed goods and popcorn. Seeing all the people rushing around and the huge smiles in the children's faces Jodie couldn't help, but mimic them. The old timey style of buildings and dress of the employees, each helping a guest with a friendly smile or offering up different goods and then the road went on ahead to the castle. The castle Jodie had only seen in TV shows, not one she ever felt the desire to see. Though as she stood there taking it all in, a childlike excitement washed over her, like the wonder and joy of the children about the area was contagious and awakening something inside.
"Oh My God, this is so amazing!" Between everything she was feeling here and the two cups of coffee she was literally bouncing with energy. "Some of my few good memories as a kid were coming here, but I think being here with you will make this the best trip yet.'' Adam said, doing his best to not keep his eyes glued to his girlfriend's chest as she bounced. He watched her head snap to the side, looking at him. Her smile did not waver for a second as she considered his words. "Today will be a day to remember." She said as she put her smooth hand to his cheek. It felt good, he had never let anyone one to him like this. She didn't make light of his past or doubt him because he grew up with money. She just saw him, for him and loved him faults in all. He was going to tell her he loved her again, he wanted to keep saying it to her. It didn't matter that she knew, she was the first woman he had ever felt like this about, but this time as he was just looking into those wonderful blue eyes no words came out. The moment was broken when the mouse-eared red head took his hand and started to pull him along down the street toward the castle. "Come on silly, we have memories to make!"
They took photos as they went along, never of just the sites, always including themselves. They went right up to the castle and waited as a Mickey stage show with his friends started. Adam wrapped one hand around Jodie waist, holding her close to his side as they both watched with glee at the fun energetic musical number. He overheard one of the guests saying how lucky they were for the autumn chill to be in their air instead of the normal Florida heat, and he had to agree. He had been here several times growing up and with school still being in session and it being a Wednesday the park's attendance left the streets not feeling crowded. It was the best he could ask for to show the woman he loved one of his cherished memories.
The early morning was spent in Tomorrow land. The first stop was an attraction called Laugh Floor for Monsters Inc, it was designed more for kids like everything here, but Jodie found herself laughing and giggling. Being here pretending to be a woman, one of lesser intellect was liberating in one fashion. Jordan didn't have to put up walls or airs of things being beneath him. Instead she could let the wonder, the newness of the experience drive her, it was like being able to relive a small part of her childhood, be able to go back in time and create this happy time. Jordan had never done anything like this, like when they rode Space Mountain. She had been on a Rollercoaster before, but those were from fairgrounds, this was real and it was in the dark. You can feel the wind rushing about, her body and move with every turn. Not seeing where they were going, each pivot was unexpected, and she screamed in excitement and in fright. She left the ride clinging to Adam's side a little dizzy and begging him for them to go again.
The little bracelets allowed for the faster lines and the second time through the coaster was just as exciting as the first. The ride had two sides, all still the same ride, but the twists and turns were different. Exiting the ride Jodie was just as excited as before and considering another go. Adam saw her looking back at the ride and laughed. "We have a lot more to see. Next we are going to Alien Encounter.'' Jodie scrunched up her face a little thinking about the Aliens movie franchise and how that didn't seem to fit. "Ih don't be like that, it isn't as scary as it used to be. They even renamed it after that guy from the movie." Adam thought for a second before snapping his fingers. "Stitch, yeah they named it Stitch's Escape." Adam saw her narrow her eyes like she didn't believe him, when it really was Jodie thinking she wasn't going to get scared at a kids park. "I promise, scouts honor." He said holding up two fingers. "Were you ever a boy scout?" Adam looked away and scratched at the back of his head. "That is a great question, but closest I got was wanting to be. But my mother said something about below my station and the topic was closed. What about you, ever a girl scout? I bet you sold a lot of cookies."
Jordan remembered going to a single meeting for the boy scouts. How his dad actually seemed happy he wanted to go and how it could make a man out of him. When he came home and told them how much membership dues were his Dad's opinion changed, saying he would just mess it up or decide not to go and it being a waste of money. Jodie remembered starting to cry and that just added fuel to the fire. The words haunted Jordan more than one night. "Don't cry like a little girl or faggot. This is exactly why I'm not throwing money away on you." His mother helped dry his face and told him men don't cry, and asked him if he wanted to be strong like his Dad and Grandpa and of course he nodded. She gave him a hug telling him he needed to keep it inside or the world would hurt him, he needed to be strong to be like his old man. "No… we couldn't afford anything like that." Adam tried to give Jodie a reassuring smile as he took her hand in his own and gave it a little squeeze. "We all have baggage, just know I'm happy to help carry yours. That to me at least is how we can show our love." Jodie was tearing up a little at the memory, her bloody emotions were hard to keep in check and he was being so sweet. So she gave him a little kiss, inhaling his cologne and suddenly remembering Eric. She needed to talk to her Eric before the day got away from her. "If you promise it isn't that scary… but I like should find the little girls room first."
Waiting in a short line Jodie pulled out her phone. One downside of being a girl was the lines, but she was mostly using this as an excuse. Jodie bit her bottom lip as she sent a text to her best friend, her other boyfriend.
Jodie: This trip has like totally been all of thr place, like boring talks about money and like percentages and stuff and then like I got to see a play and it was GOOD!
Eric: Sounds like you are getting to have some fun down in Florida, I'm glad to hear it. Hope you have a chance for the beach. Do you know when you will be home?
Jodie: This trip would be better with you, but I think I will be home tomorrow umm I don't like remember my flight time.
Eric: Do you think you could take Friday off?
Jodie: Fer Sur! But why?
Eric: for me to properly apologize
It was surprising to Jodie that Eric responded right away, but now she was beside herself with glee. She was ready to forget about what happened or at least try to so they could get past this, but not only did he want to apologize, but he wanted to do something special to do it. The two of them texted a little more before Jodie spun up a conversation or more like replied to the one Tiff had started. Telling her about the park so far and showing her a selfie she took with the ears. They were girly and silly, but despite her initial **** she did look cute with them. Looking in the mirror she opened her black purse and touched up her makeup while she hummed a little tune from a forgotten dream before joining Adam in line for the next little adventure in the park. The show or video or whatever Stitch’s escape was considered was creepy enough that Jodie screamed more than once. The seats would move, mist would be blown into the already dark room and she felt something slippery and wet like a tendril move across the back of her calf and then later her neck. Scary movies weren’t scary at all and this shouldn’t have been either, but when you are in the dark not able to see and feel something like that it was easy to flip the fuck out, or at least that is how Jodie tried to justify latching onto Adam’s arms as she scream “It’s behind me!” When the lights came back on and time for the group to exit she bounded her fists into his chest. “Not scary my ass!” Adam smiled and pulled her forward so she bent over a little and leaned back over her to look at her behind. “A fine ass it is Miss Applebottom.” Jodie pursed her lips and glared at him, but it only caused him to burst into laughter. “It’s not funny.” Jodie said crossing her arms under her impressive chest as she walked out of the room ahead of Adam. “Plenty more to see in Tomorrow land, like the Carousel of Progress, but I’m afraid of sitting in a dark room with you.” Jodie raised an eyebrow at the comment, wondering why he would be afraid of her, that was a switch. “Afraid I’m going to beat you up for lying about that being not scary?” Jodie held up a fist like she was going to punch him, but with her nails she no longer could properly make one. “That and what I might do if I thought I could spend a few minutes uninterrupted kissing you.” Jodie lowered her fist and thought it best to change the subject before he wanted to go on the ride. It sounded like a good opportunity for her to get the kicked out, but the day was just starting and plenty more of the park to be seen.
“Where to next then?” Jodie said looking about, not able to see the next area, though she did notice earlier a race car ride that looked fun and that they would be missing it if they left. “Are we.. going to come back over here later?” Adam gave her a sheepish smile. “We can try, but I don’t think we will be able to see everything in one trip and this is just one of the parks. This park has some of my favorite memories, and that is why I took you here, but my favorite park is Animal Kingdom. I remember sitting eating lunch watching monkey fight and play in their enclosure, it was like watching kids play on a jungle gym. I think you would love that park, but only so much we can do in one trip. What do you say about coming back here every year?” Jodie looked over to Space Mountain and then pulled out one of the maps seeing all the numbers across it and how much they hadn’t seen yet. The idea of coming here and reliving the excitement she felt when walking in sounded wonderful, she wanted to say yes a thousand times over, but knew it wouldn’t happen. This was the only trip that was going to happen, she needed to be with Eric and soon as Adam wasn’t her boss anymore this would be over. “Okay, but we are not getting married here.” She said with a large smile that she didn’t mean. She had to keep up the act, keep pushing him and enjoy as much of the magic she could this day. “I know telling you to stop with the wedding stuff isn’t going to happen, but maybe just for today we can just live in the moment?” Jodie opened her eyes wide and pouted at him for a good two seconds before breaking into a giggling fit. It looked like the man might panic, at least that is what she wanted to see on his face. “One last one!” She demanded and seeing him wince a little like he was mentally preparing for her to yell or burst into song. Instead she pointed the word princess on her shirt and then to her ring finger. “I like the princess cut.” With a big smile she took his hand, waiting for them to lead them on to the next area. Jodie needed to look up what a princess cut was, she had said it because it seemed so fitting. “Well princess, out next stop is Fantasy Land. They even have a Little Mermaid area, I’m betting you are a fan of Ariel.”
