The Last Supper

AN HOUR LATER:

The four are laughing at the tail end of a story John was telling as they're getting to the end of their meals while drinking their ale. Kyuala, Amilia and John drink from their tankards while Lani drinks from her shot glass.

John wipes the leftover ale from his lips as he puts his tankard back on the desk, zoning out as Kyuala started to speak. John looks over to his friends with a warm smile on his face as he enjoys the camaraderie between them all.

His thoughts are then swiftly interrupted by Kyuala who asks, "John, did you hear me?".

John snaps out of his own little world, turning his head toward the orc woman as he asks, "Uhh... yes?".

Kyuala raises an eyebrow and gains a knowing grin, "Oh really? Then why don't you tell me then? We're all friends here... no judgement, right girls?".

"Right!" Lani enthusiastically says.

Lani's response is followed by Amilia who says, "Ehh, a little judgement from me" .

The cats comment draws a little laughter from the others but eventually Kyuala looks to John once again and asks, "So? Why don't you tell us? I know it might be embarrassing, but it's always going to be. No one expects you to be a master during your first time".

John then realises what they're talking about, but keeps his expression still to not let them know that he has realised. He takes a few moments before signing and saying, "Uhh, well, I was uhh, I was sixteen, I was with my first girlfriend at the time. We were at her house, and then she asked if I wanted to go upstairs, so I said yes and up we went. We were in her room, sat on her bed and after about a minute, we started kissing-".

John's story is then interrupted as he begins to hear the girls trying to stifle their laughter, albeit very unsuccessfully. John then stops himself before asking, "What happened to no judgement? Minus Amilia".

Kyuala manages to contain her laughter for a few moments before saying, "We weren't asking about your first time having sex. We were asking about your first sword fight".

John is confused, but quickly realises that they all know collectively fuck-all about Earth, so he says, "Uhh, well... my people... we... don't fight with swords, anymore".

The trio are confused as Kyuala asks, "So, what do you fight with then?".

John stammers a bit, trying to figure out how to explain it, but he eventually just says, "Well, we have these things called guns. They're like metal crossbows except they fire a lot faster and these small metal things called bullets. It's nowhere near an accurate description, but it's the best I can do right now".

The girls all look at him with confusion, amazement and intrigue, all somehow rolled into a singular expression which somewhat amuses him. But that's when Amilia speaks up and asks a very fateful question.

"Where are you from John?".
