The Kisten Crags

A mountainous and rocky region, the bulk of which lies mostly just north of Itheria. The Crags is an independent region infested with Dragon-kin. Once the seat of the great Arxkesttelgdn Empire which once ruled over the southern half of Motania, 700 years before the start of this story. After its collapse, the region dissolved into warring tribes and nearly always collapses into civil war after the **** of the previous High Warlord. The de-facto ruler of the Kisten Crags. The surrounding kingdoms have since attempted to pacify the region, but all expeditions have failed due to the war-like descendants of the ancient Dragon-Emperors.

Once an empire spanning Itheria, Phebis, Elithiel, and more; the lords of The Crags still desperately hold onto the title of "Arxkesttelgdn Empire" despite it long having lost much of its meaning. The people of The Kisten Crags are divided based on the color of their scales. As the vast majority of the people of this realm are descended from dragons with various scale colors and attributes. This divide is much more tribal than racial. Although the lines do blur on occasion.

In total, there are Thirteen Tribes of Dragonkin within The Crags. Each one has a primary city for one of the known Dragon colors and also an affinity for a certain kind of magic also inherited from their Dragon predecessors. In an attempted display of unity, the very name Arxkesttelgdn Empire is derived from the first letter of each tribe. These cities are as followed:

Arca: Red Clutch, Fire

Rine: Orange Clutch: Fighting spirit (an orange aura that when breathed out surrounds the user with enhanced strength, stamina and will to fight. May also cause fits of rage or a berserk rage)

Xanda: Yellow Clutch, Electric/Lightning/Thunder

Kendor: Green clutch, poison, venom, acid

Elesies: Blue Clutch, Water

Slainion: Indigo Clutch, psychic/mind

Tripson: Violate Clutch, Astral/stars/dreams

Tera: Brown Clutch, earth/rock

Eutropa: Cream Clutch, Nature (plants, animals) (cream dragon-kin make good druids if they have dragon magic)

Lumos: Silver, regular light/ spectrum light

Gaul: White Clutch, The Wind

Daxam: Gold Clutch, Radiant/Holy Light

Nastromo: Black Clutch, Darkness/Shadow

It is likely that these tribes were much more spread out during the height of the Arxkesttelgdn Empire. However, as they lost their land to upstart kingdoms and races. They have all retreated into the relatively small, mountainous region of The Kisten Crags.

Due to its location in the world, treachery of of the various tribes, and the remaining dragons mostly washing their hands of the matter; The Kisten Crags are much less wealthy than their neighbors to the south. Often Itheria is raided and the current High Warlord brings most of the wealth into their corresponding tribe. This leads to much of the wealth centralized with the High Warlord and due to the rivalry between the tribes; the rest of the realm wallows in destitution.
