The following day, the new couple completed one other task -- the formal adoption of Emily, Aaron and Katie. Moses wanted Elizabeth to carry her maiden name, hyphenated. So she was Elizabeth Castle-Jones. So that she, and everyone, would know that family, a lineage of plantation owners, were now indelibly linked to their former indentured servants.
