The Jets hear the good news

Grazella walks in the store to see the Jets staring at her, and she tells them the good news that Riff is alive. "Riff is alive he's not dead guys, I saw him with my own eyes". She also informs them that Bernardo is alive too, and then she tells them about Maria and Tony. "Guys this is something you all need to know, and I do believe that it's very important news. You see guys, Tony is in love with Bernardo's sister, Maria. And she loves Tony back, and knowing Tony ourselves. He is going to be very protective of her, and we are family regardless the situation. We are going to respect that Tony is in a relationship with her, and Riff wants everyone to respect Maria. She is related to the leader of the sharks, but she's not in the gang with the sharks." Out of nowhere they hear the door open and in comes in Tony, he is in no mood to talk to anyone. He goes straight down to the basement, where he's been staying since he came back from prison; all to find Valentina waiting for him. He tells the Jets, "Please guys; I don't want to see anybody, and I want to be left alone". Valentina tells him the good news about Riff and Bernardo being alive. "Tony please understand what we are telling you, Riff and Bernardo are alive. They live Tony, both alive." Tony went downstairs in the basement that Valentina gave him for a room and board, and she instructed Tony to stay down there for now. Since the police were scowling the neighborhood, Valentina thinks it's safe for Tony not to be seen. She didn't want Tony to get locked up again since he's been doing very well with his parole officer, and making sure that everyone knows their place when it comes to Tony. "I will stay down here Valentina, Maria is coming and I want her to be safe." "Don't worry about it Tony, when she comes in the store I will sent her down here. I just don't want the cops questioning you right now. Just wait for a bit, until the heat dies down." That's when Valentina looks at Tony and smiles, oh how she adores that boy with all her heart. She always saw Tony as a son she never had, but her and doc tried many times to have kids, but always failed so they settled for the Jets as their troubled children. The Jets were in a way kids after all, and as teenage boys fresh out of high school that needed guidance. But Tony was different from them, and Valentina knew that Tony was a special one. Both her and doc saw Tony as their son even though he was not related to them in any kind of way, and from time a again they took care of him as their own. Knowing that Tony had a troubled life growing up, with a father he never knew or met, and his mother who never cared for him. Of course that was half the Jets growing up, but Tony was the one who actually tries to do better. Even when the odds are against him, and Valentina can only hope that Maria can be the light he needs to escape from his darkness.
