“My rage will wipe these attackers off the mountain,” John said as he summoned his helmet to his hand to put it back on.
The Harder They Fall
“See, queen? Your little guards fall to us!” said a deep voice near the top of the mountain. John listened to the voices he heard as he approached the summit to see if he could garner any information before he made himself known.
“Yes, yes! We are strong!” said a squeaky voice. “We crush your guards! Take your women! Replenish the orcs!” it gleefully said.
“Yes, Rak, we will gain an orc army and crush all who oppose us!” said the other voice.
“We will never surrender to you!” came a female voice, one that was tired and desperate. “Our savior will soon be here to vanquish all of you!” she told other voices.
“Oh? Is that so?” asked the deep voice.
“Her lies are getting grander and grander!” said the squicky voice.
“I do not lie! My precious daughter and her mate will arrive and smite you for this infraction!” she roared back at the men she was talking to.
“He’s probably already dead. Our son, dumb as he is, can easily kill a simple man and bird,” said the deep voice.
“Yes, our boy is strong and easy to control!” said the other voice.
Our son? How can these two men have the same son? Maybe they’re in a throuple with the mom and they don’t actually know who the father is? Also, if they are the father, does that mean they’re an orc or ogre? Doesn’t matter. I’ll kill them both all the same John thought to himself. His inner monologue, however, made him lose focus and did not see the scout that turned the corner and saw him approaching.
“INTRUDER! KILL HIM!” yelled the scout. The voice snapped John back to the present and he locked in on the orc that had yelled. The orc had unsheathed its curved blade and charged towards John. John smiled underneath his helmet as he decided to help the orc get closer to him.
“Let me give you hand,” John’s mechanical voice said as he used Force Pull on the orc and pulled it straight into his lightsaber. The orc’s face was full of shock as he suddenly flew towards John and then was impaled on his lightsaber.
“H...how?” was all he could utter before he slumped over, dead. John turned off his lightsaber and let the body fall to the floor and continued towards the summit. Unfortunately for John, a horde of orcs came rushing towards him, each with their weapons drawn. There were far too many to count that were heading towards him, and he had to think of the best way to deal with all of them.
“Fuck it, I’ll just slice my way through them all,” he said outloud as he used Saber Throw to take out a portion of the front row of orcs. That barely slowed them down as the orcs merely trampled over the orcs that fell to that attack, despite if they were still alive or not. John used Force Push to try to break their ranks but all it did was slow them down. The ones that went flying quickly recovered and merely charged in towards the back instead of the front. This forced John to fight them in close combat with his lightsaber.
John would slice through five orcs, but three would get close enough and all hit him with his armor. He watched the small damage numbers pop up in his HUD. While they were small, there were a lot of them appearing on his screens. If I don’t clear these guys out, I’ll die of a thousand cuts. John thought to himself as he fought his way through the orcs. Sadly, he had barely made any ground.
“DIVINE JUDGMENT!” shouted a female voice right before a holy bolt shot down from the skies and crashed into the horde of orcs. The ones that were not instantly vaporized were sent flying into the side of the mountain or fell off the path. “FOR KING JOHN!” said the voice behind him as his knights came rushing past him to intercept the orcs as they recovered from the attack.
“We have arrived, my lord,” Fran said as she walked up to her king. “We’ll keep these orcs busy, you go finish off their leader,” she reassured him.
“Well done, Fran. Perfect timing,” he told her.
“You should know better by now that I can time everything perfectly,” she said with a grin on her face.
“Very true,” replied John, who had a smile on his face under his helmet. “Leave none alive,” he told her, to which she nodded in acceptance. With that said, John went back to his trek to the summit where the nest was located. His chest swelled with pride as he saw his soldiers effortlessly slaughtering the orcs. They trained hard for this very moment, for when their king called on them to fight for king and country, and they were doing their duty perfectly.
“YOU HEARD OUR KING! SLAUGHTER THEM ALL!” ordered Fran as she joined the frey. She laughed happily as she slaughtered orc after orc who would try to challenge her. The orcs, thinking a female human would be as easy prey as the female harpies, thought they could beat her and take as their breeding slave. Unfortunately for them, Fran only had one mate, and it was not these orcs.
Meanwhile on the summit
“Where did this army come from?” growled the deep voice.
“This is wrong, wrong!” said the other voice.
“I told you, my precious daughter and her mate have arrived to save her flock!” she said with a triumphant voice.
“We’ll see about that,” said the deep voice before John could arrive.
“So, you’re the one that caused my Idena to cry?” asked John as he rounded the corner to come to the nest to a sight that complicated his plans.
