The Game Begins With A Reward (Pass-Permanence)

“Let’s have the order be decided by who picks their tokens first.” Bernard suggested knowing everyone here had trouble deciding the order of players when they played board games together.

“I’ve selected my token so I’ll start setting up the board.” Sam said after quickly grabbing the Snow Leopard token from Male Paradise box, with unusual decisiveness.

Noticing their friend's quick action the others asked “What made you select that piece?”

“I just thought since it’s the first time we are playing this game we should use the pieces provided and the Snow Leopard was my favorite.” Sam replied while the others continued rustling through their pieces.

“Ok, it might take a little while to find the pieces we want.” Kevin responded while he and the others were searching though their own tokens completely ignoring the ones offered by the game.

“Maybe I should use this piece? No, how about this one?” Jamie stated as he looked through his custom tokens.

With the others having similar mumblings as they did the same. Due to the others indecision Sam nearly finished setting up the massive and thick board before any of the others had finished selecting their tokens, with only Bernard choosing to use one of his favorite kinds, a Werewolf token, before he finished setting up the board. Soon after Oscar chooses a Dwarf token, followed by Kevin chooses a Manticore token with a Lion head, limbs, and body, a Scorpion tail, and Bat wings, then Calvin chooses a Cthulhu token, and finally Jamie settles on his Mechanical Dragonoid token.

“Let's start.” Sam said enthusiastically as he placed his Snow Leopard token.

Following this the others placed their tokens not noticing the small sparks emanating from the board, in reaction to the unfamiliar tokens, begrudgingly accepting them. Soon after everyone placed their tokens the game began and the tokens started moving with the Snow Leopard token coming to life while the others only shook a little.

“Cool! Maybe we should have chosen some pieces from the game.” Oscar said while watching the Snow Leopard sit down.

“Well I’m gonna draw my card now.” Sam said while going to draw his first card.

As Sam grabbed the card the Snow leopard token laid down and began to sleep. Turning it over revealed a golden card.

“Pass-Permanence: Discard and disregard the card you drew by making a previously drawn card permanent. Move zero. End turn. Thank you for playing properly.” Sam read from the card.

“Well, guess that’s my turn.” Sam said after reading the card and seeing the Snow Leopard token was curled up and sleeping.

“My turn then.” Bernard said after Sam finished his turn.
