The First Date
I can't believe I'm actually doing this. I can't believe I'm about to go on a date with the nerdiest guy in school.
Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with the fact he's a nerd, this just isn't something I ever expected to do.
The two of us agreed to meet after school, so here I am, waiting for him.
"Wow, you look amazing," I heard him say. I looked over at him and couldn't help but blush. I'll admit, he cleans up nicely. Not only that, but the way he was looking at me made me feel really good. He wasn't just looking at me with lust, but genuine care. He didn't just want me, he wanted to be with me.
I've never been looked at like that.
"Thanks, so do you. So, what's the plan?" I asked him with a sunny smile. His eyes darted away before he spoke.
"I-I was hoping we could go to a movie then get some dinner. I've never been on a date before, so I don't really know what I'm doing," he said. I can't say I'm surprised this is his first date, but I'm honestly honerd it's me.
"That sounds great. Good thing the theater is just around the corner," I said. He nodded, clearly not being able to form words. He began to lead me along, and I couldn't help but look at his hands.
"Aren't you going to hold my hand?" I asked, holding out my hand to him. He looked at me in shock.
"A-are you sure you want to hold my hand?" he questioned. Wow, that's both really cute and kinda sad. This guy really needs a confidence boost. So I took his hand and pulled him close.
"Yes. We're on a date, which means we can hold hands," I said. From the corner of my eye, I could see just how much this small gesture means to him.
...
I loved the movie. He let me choose, and we saw a romantic movie I've been itching to go see. Even though I could tell he didn't really like it, at least he seems to be having a good time.
Probably due to the hot girl hanging off his arm.
"Come on, I know a great place for us to eat. My treat," I said, bubbling with energy. Sue me, I really liked the movie.
"N-no, I can pa-" he started before I cut him off with a finger on his lips. I know it was rude, but it needed to be done.
"Nope, none of that. I'm not letting you pay for the whole date. You get whatever you want and you're going to like it," I said. The small smile on his lips made my heart skip a beat.
...
Holy shit he's funny. Once his nerves calmed down, he's telling jokes that make me laugh.
"Wow, you're really funny," I said, trying not to **** on my food.
"I try," he said with a big grin. My god, his smiles send shivers down my spine. Once I calmed down, I watched him eat with a smile.
"This has been a lot of fun. I hope our second date will be this great," I said. I tried really hard not laugh as he choked on his food.
"S-second date? You want a second date with me?" he exclaimed in shock. Hearing him talk like this really hurts. I took his hands and gave him my best smile.
"Yes, I do. I've been on a lot of dates before, but this one has been the best I've ever had. So yes, I'd love to go out with you again," I said. I didn't even realize that these words were true until they were coming out of my mouth.
"And I'm planning the next one. I already have a great idea," I said. He gave me a happy yet somber look.
"Thanks for giving me a chance. A girl like you rarely ever gives a guy like me a chance," he said. I leaned forward and gave him a kiss on the cheek, breaking his brain.
"They're all missing out,"
