Chapter 3 by youngstar5678 youngstar5678

What's next?

Hanging Out

I like to think of myself as a smart girl. But for some reason, I can't seem to think straight when it comes to Henry.

Why am I saying this you ask, I forgot to get his number. Not only that, but I realized a little to late I barely asked about himself during our date. Not only do I feel stupid, but I feel like a jerk. He seemed to be enjoying himself, but I could have made it better for him.

...

Normally, I sit with the other popular kids during lunch. But today, I wanted to sit with him.

"Mind if I join you ?" I asked him. He looked up at me in shock.

"O-of course not. Feel free to," he said nervously. I had to try really hard not to giggle at how cute he is. But once I remembered why I was over here, I got really nervous.

"I'm sorry," I said, bowing my head. He just looked at me in total confusion.

"For what?" he asked.

"For not really trying to get to know you on our date. I really had a great time, but I realized that I never asked you about yourself. And for that, I'm sorry," I said. What he said next didn't sit well with me.

"It's fine. There isn't much worth getting to know anyways," he said. I clenched my fist slightly and gave him a tight glare.

"Don't say that! I'd love to get to know you more. Just because you're a nerd doesn't mean you're not worth getting to know," I snapped at him. Wow, where did that come from?

"Um, my sister tells me the same thing," he said. Ok, there we go.

"Tell me about her," I said.

I spent the rest of lunch getting to know him better. He has a really cool older sister and has no friends. He told me about his favorite game, movie, extra extra. But the thing that made me smile the most is that he never stuttered. When he's relaxed, he's confident.

I really want him to be relaxed with me.

"Before I go, can I see your phone?" I asked him.

"Um, sure," he said, going right back to being on edge. He hande me his phone and I put my number in.

"Call me," I said while giving him his phone back and kissing his cheek. After I left, I found my friend Victoria, and she wasn't happy.

"Why did you kiss that guy? If someone sees you they're going to spread rumors," she said.

"Let them. We already went on a date," I said. I really don't see the big deal here. So what if he's a nerd?

"You're making a big mistake," she said. At this point, I had enough and walked away. I'm not letting anyone tell me who I can and can't date.

And the more I think about him, the more I smile.

...

Victoria
