The First Clue

Two days laters, at the Wooden Horn...

The rain pounded the roof of the inn. The storm swept over the region without warnings. Heinkel sat down the bed, cleaned up from today's odd jobs. Tracking down a fugitive in such a large city was quite a headache. Yet these small jobs would eventually led to some clues to his main objective. Thankfully it was an easy job, they were able to track down, capture, and handed the fugitive to the city guards all before getting caught by the rain. As he waited for Kate and Arainne to return from the bath, a knock on the door.

"Heinkel," Beatrice's voice rang out. Heinkel let her in, Beatrice glide into the room almost silently, her hood and cloak damped from the rain outside.

"Let me guess, you have something already," Heinkel guessed as he helped her out of the cloak.

"Certainly..." Beatrice started but her words were interrupted by Arianne and Kate returning to the room. After a brief introduction, Beatrice was allowed to continued., "the Ring of Ellezar might have been lost inside the ruins city of the Greybeards, or least there should be clue about it there."

"Mount Greycloud will be our next destination then?" Kate chimed in as she looked over to Arianne who was already packing and ready to leave.

"There will certainly be dangers, who knows what lurk in that ruin, especially one under a mountain," Heinkel spoke up, looking over to Beatrice.

"Oh I will most certainly accompany you, to protect my investment, after all it did cost me a bit to get this piece of rumor," Beatrice reaffirmed her intention, at the same time teasing Heinkel with a finger on his chin.

"Well, your skills would be most helpful to us," Heinkel sighed, he has his handful with Kate and Arianne for now, adding Beatrice's teasing to the mix would certainly made each night and each day more interesting.

"To mount Greycloud and the city of the Greybeards it is then," Heinkel finally decided, "we leave early tomorrow!"
