The Fiancée Allie Asher

Allie was annoyed, so many of her co-workers were just so dumb. How can you not know where your wi-fi settings are? HOW can you not know the difference between reply and reply all? Allie was ranting in her mind, and then there was Derrick, who works in the business department and unfortunately was on being assigned to more than half of her projects. It was like he had no clue what his job actually entailed or any of the procedures for how projects are done. Constantly asking the same questions that have already been answered clearly, hoping that there would be a different answer. If she didn’t know that Derrick had a husband, she would have figured he was a creep making up excuses to interact with her, but alas, he was just incompetent.

Allie worked in IT but was so glad that she had been able to move to remote work thanks to the pandemic. She was loving every minute of being comfy at home instead of having creeps at work constantly coming up with even more stupid problems just so she would have to come to their desk where they could ogle and hit on her.

Allie could hear Mark moving around, picking up dishes around the house. She was glad that they had gotten to this point in their relationship and had worked through the rough patch a few years ago. She looked down at her ring, feeling contentment well up inside her, letting some of the stress of work seep away. She was glad she had found a partner who cared about her, even if it took some work to get past some communication issues. She was looking forward to the weekend, and a new ARPG season was starting up, and she and Mark were going to play together all weekend long.

She looked at her work desk and noticed several mugs filled with various levels of unfinished tea and old tea bags. She decided to take a short break and take them to the kitchen for Mark and make a new cup for both of them, maybe a quick make-out session. Walking down the hall, she heard Mark make a startled sound.

“Mark? What’s wrong? Mark…? MARK!?” She ran to the kitchen and placed down the mugs, and continued shouting, “MARK! Where are you? She quickly went down the stairs and, in her haste, slipped and everything went black.

Mark saw Allie stumble onto the stage much like he did, though with a more panicked look on her flushed face. Allie was trying to get her bearings, not recognizing where she was. She could tell she was on some kind of stage. There were some very comfortable armchairs that looked a little out of place on the otherwise empty stage, and she noticed Mark and a short blonde woman in a dress Allie would kill for because it was her favorite shade of blue.

“Allie, don’t worry, it will be okay.” Mark’s reply was tinged with warning. This made Allie nervous as there was definitely something wrong. She was glad he was here, though, as she was pretty sure they could make it through whatever was going on together.

“Welcome, Allie. My name is Cassandra, and I will be your host for the next few months, as you compete in this wonderful contest.” Mark groaned at the second part of her statement.

“What contest, and where am I, and how did I get here?”

“Why you are on, HAREM HOTEL, a wonderful contest where you compete for a position in your Master’s harem. As for where you are, let's go with not Earth, and for your last question, MAGIC.” Cassandra waved her hands and fingers in front of her with the end of her statement. “Now, why don’t you introduce yourself to the audience?”

Allie looked incredulously toward Cassandra, not being able to tell if she was joking. After a few seconds of just staring in Cassandra’s direction in disbelief, Allie felt something come over her and looked out to the empty theater and began, “Hi, My Name is Allie Asher, I am Mark’s fiancée, and we have been together for 9 years now. I met him while he was in graduate school through a Magic: The Gathering Tournament at the university. I am currently working as a software developer. I am 33 years old, 5’9”, 135lbs, my measurements are 38B”-26”-28”, and I am bisexual. My last sexual encounter was some pretty vanilla sex with Mark, though it has been a while.” As Allie finished, she was confused, “How... Why did I feel compelled to say all that?”

“MAGIC.” Cassandra once again stated as she waved her hands in front of her. “Now I don’t want to have to explain everything a bunch of times, so I will have you hold off on any more questions until the rest of the contestants arrive.”

Allie began to raise her hand to object, but found that she couldn’t nor could she speak. This caused her eyes to open wide in alarm. Mark reached out and grasped one of her hands in his and said, “Allie, it will be okay, I am here with you. We can get through this.”

“How touching, and please bear with me, as we now have our next contestant. Time to welcome a blast from Mark’s past.”
