The Family Is Less Supportive Than The Bra

Sue Storm left the bra-fitting with a light heart and a spring in her step. A bouyant attitude that belied the dig of the straps of the weighted bra into her shoulders. Heads turned as she walked along the street to Four Freedoms Plaza, and Sue's hopes rose as she took the elevator up to her living quarters.

It was a perfect family scene. Ben Grimm had an unlit cigar in his mouth. Johnny Storm was on his knees, arm extended, pointing his forefinger at Ben's stony face. Franklin and Valeria had their uncle's arm, helping him aim as a small sphere of flame grew at the very tip of the Human Torch's finger.

Then the Thing caught sight of Sue Storm. His great stony mouth opened. The cigar fell out. A moment later, a ball of flame the size of a baseball exploded in his face.

It was all downhill from there, really.

The kids screamed. Johnny couldn't look at her. Ben Grimm was scrubbing ash from his face. Sue Storm's stammered explanations came out wrong and...then Reed Richards emerged to a scene of utter chaos. His eyes widened as he saw Sue Storm in her weighted bra, and then narrowed.

She found herself politely shuffled into their bedroom, the door closed and locked. Then, and only then, did Mister Fantastic look her in the eys and say, with that frustratingly calm way of his:

"Sue, that joke was in very poor taste. What will the children think?"

Immediately, Sue's spine stiffened. She drew herself up to her full height, unconsciously sticking out her chest.

"It's not a joke, Reed. I'm looking at getting a breast augmentation. The weighted bra is a way to...try on the size before I buy."

Reed made an ugly face. Mouth twisted into a grimace, brow furrowed. Just a look of utter disgust, momentary as it was.

"A breast augmentation? For what reason?" he said.

Sue Storm felt a cold anger spark inside of her.

"Because I want bigger tits, Reed. I've wanted bigger tits my entire life, and I'm finally at a point where I can get them, and I'm not getting any younger," Sue Storm said. She wasn't sure if that was completely true, but at the moment she felt determined for her decision.

Reed seemed taken aback by this.

"But...this size...you look ridiculous! Like a bimbo!" he said.

The anger began to simmer.

"Maybe I want to be a bimbo! Have you thought of that?" Sue said, her voice rising. "Maybe I want to feel attractive! Like somebody would fuck me! You won't!"

It was the beginning of a very ugly argument.
