Chapter 66 by Iam_DickMan Iam_DickMan

Who answers the door?

The Ex

Gleenick, or Nick to his friends, answered the door with a cocky grin upon seeing Mata’s face. Nick was tall for a goblin, clocking in at about four and a half feet. Mata had found that extremely appealing at one point, but the look on his face as he craned his neck up to look at Arthur. Delicious. Mata wanted to call it right there, instead she grabbed Arthur’s hand and pulled him inside, practically shoving Nick out of the way. “Mom, Kena! Come meet Arthur!” She looked back at Nick. “Hey Nick, you still a stupid piece of shit?” Nick hadn’t broken gaze with Arthur, who had to stoop to get through the door. This broke his attention though and he whipped his head around to look at Mata “That’s not fair and-”

“Mata!” She came around the corner and wrapped Mata in her arms. The goblin woman and Mata were similar enough of build and facial structure and even shared the same delicate green coloring to answer any questions of relation. That might have been where the similarities stopped though. Mata’s hair was cut short and tinged blue, and hers was black ringlets that cascaded down her back. She wore thick framed glasses, a tight white tee and a pair of jeans that practically screamed ‘mom.’

“Mom,” Mata confirmed immediately, “this is Arthur.” Mata’s mother released her daughter and turned towards the giant who’d entered her family home. “Oh goddess, he’s tall as trees. Hi! I’m Hama.” She moved in for a hug, and Arthur panicked momentarily before she stopped. “Oh! Your practically folded in half! Mata why don’t you show our guest to the patio and we’ll have dinner out there. Then can you come help me in the kitchen?” She turned and pulled Mata in for another peck on the cheek.

Mata dragged him out back. As they settled Mata grinned. “Did you see the look on his face!” She stage whispered to Arthur once they were out of earshot. “Fucking prick. Take that seat over there, I’m pretty sure it’s the only one that you’ll fit in” she pointed to an goblin sized outdoor patio couch. “I’m going to go help mom, but I’ll be right back, okay?” She grinned at him again before going back in through the sliding glass door and shutting it behind her.

Arthur dropped into the patio couch, with its sun faded cushions. It groaned under his weight. He pulled out his phone and gave it a quick check. The sound of the sliding door opening drew his attention back up.

Who opens the door?
