The European Cut And The American Cut !

"You look fit" said Lesley. She was happy to have Debbi to herself for this catch up session, since Lawrence was on some assignment and Sally was in Leeds. Filming of Ape Girl had finished and Debbi did indeed look fit. She had never felt so toned as she did after the strict regime she had been put through by the army physical training instructor. "Nice bush" laughed Lesley as they rested on the bed. "Yeah, well I told you I had to grow it for the part. I'm looking forward to being smooth again now" answered Debbi.

"How was the method acting schooling with what's is name ?"

"Veselvod ?"

"Yeah, him."

"We spent hours in the ape house at the zoo studying gait, posture and gestures. Then I had to spend days at his studio while he yelled at me, think ape, think ape ! And all the time I was bloody freezing there in the nude."

"He kept you in the nude ?"

"Yeah, 'cos that's how apes are and how I'd be in the film."

"But was it useful ?"

"Not much. I started loping around the set but they said they didn't want me dragging my knuckles so much. Just climbing on the frame the psychiatrists had in my cell on the set and gibbering a bit."

"But they liked your performance ?"

"Seemed to. I began to realise they wanted me to be more human and only superficially ape so that it would be sexier. Although it was supposed to be a serious acting vehicle for Magnus and Hazel and their relationship and clashes, they also knew the value of a pretty naked girl for sales and publicity !"

"But it must have been so glamorous ?"

Debbi laughed. "Not always. I had a scene where I was first captured in the jungle. Fell into a pit. Well, I thought we'd be off to the tropics to film that but we ended up in the bloody Brecon Beacons in the pouring rain ! The rest of the time we were in Pinewood and that wasn't much different from making the soap really."

"How was Magnus Flood ?"

"Total asshole !"

"Hazel ?"

"Very sweet and supportive actually, especially when they rewrote the pissing scene and instead of in the corridor, I had to jump up and piss on her desk ! She saw how nervous I was about all that."

"So next up is Cannes ?"

"Yes, the film festival. They've got two distinct cuts of the movie. One for Europe that shows all my bits. The pissing scene you see everything with me in full flow for instance. And a totally different cut for the US market where all you see are a few quick glimpses of my tits and ass and the pissing scene, for instance, cuts away to my head and you just hear sound effects ! We're premiering the full length full on version in Cannes, then going to LA with the hatchet job."

"And you still want me to design your frock for Cannes ?"

"Please, yeah. That's what I want to discuss."
