Chapter 23 by PhantomRock17 PhantomRock17

What awaits tomorrow?

The End of the Siege

By the next day, the enemy archers are all but eliminated. Amidst the heat, only thirsty men with ladders remain. However, the stubborn commander refuses to surrender, and again orders his man to charge the wall once more with ladders, only to be ruthlessly cut down by your knights and men at arms.

It is around the afternoon when the remaining 500 or so men, having witnessed their commander finally burn to **** by a flaming arrow, lay down their arms and surrender to your men as prisoners. Looking around carefully, your men begin salvaging the battlefield, taking trophies while also taking and useable armors, weapons or materials to be melted down by the blacksmiths, while members of the monastic order of Eternal Rest begin burning the dead Saracens in respect to their beliefs under your orders.

While the Saracens had been a ferocious enemy, they still deserve respect, especially when they fought as hard as they had. As soon as this had all been settled, you inform your officers that you will retire to the citadel early for the day, and that if they need to summon you, use a messenger. After all, you have a promise to keep.

What's next?
