The Decision

You sit side by side on the queen sized bed. You drink in her beauty and stroke her soft delicate cheek. Right now she is your every want and desire made flesh. She, however, is looking at the floor. Her hands clasped in front of her.

"Jesse..."

"What is it El?" You say softly.

"Jesse, I love you." She answers in an unsteady quiet voice.

"I love you to Elsie." You respond, sounding a bit to rote. She was your sister, of course you loved her.

She looks at you with her big brown eyes. Staring into your eyes she says. "No...Jesse...I love you."

You sit, frozen in place, as the realization finally hits home. There was no mistaking her meaning in those words. All those warning voices in your mind finally let loose. She is your sister! You can't fall in love with your sister! Run! Escape! This isn't right! Protected sex is one thing, but love!? No! Countering these voices you hear Sebastian's deep voice. Love, only love. Nothing else matters.

She sits staring at you nervously. She seemed right on the border edge between crying and exhaling in relief. Her breath was held as she trembled slightly. The longer you are quiet the more uneasy she is getting. She was in an emotionally exposed and fragile state right now. She had bared her deepest secret to you and awaited a response.
