The Crowd Want Selfies !

After Charlotte's selfies with the pair had triggered the crowd, Carol saw what was coming and beat a tactical retreat back towards the float. Debbi was less fortunate, however, and found herself besieged by grasping hands imploring to have their photo taken with her. It would have been bad enough before but now she knew that she had lost the strategically placed black tape, she was even more ****.

She tried to pull away but heard Diane calling out to her. "Now, now Debbi. Play nice. You know that's what Jeff would want and I'd hate to give a negative report." As if on cue Jeff materialized nearby with his wife Audrey, who to Debbi's dismay also wanted a photo. Karen saw this as an opportunity too. "Jeff, come over and link arms with Debbi and Audrey, I can take a group photo of the three of you for the magazine !"

Charlotte's enjoyment of the encounter was suddenly dampened by the arrival of another group of students from the college who belonged to a wealthier, more snobbish set. "Good lord Charlotte, is that your mother ? A bit long in the tooth to be flaunting herself like that in public isn't she ?" "I think she looks great and is being very brave" Charlotte defended Carol.

"Who's the fit looking younger bird ?" "That's Debbi, her boss." "Wouldn't mind a boss like that when I get a job !"

Two of the girls in this group decided that it would be funny to impersonate a mother and child. "Mummy, I can see that lady's slit." "So can everyone else dear, though why on earth she thinks anyone would want to see it is beyond me." "Speak for yourself" countered one of the boys.

With this latest mockery, Debbi decided she had finally had enough and broke clear from the latest attempt at a selfie with her to head back to join Carol at the float but not before someone had ripped off her bunny tail for a souvenir. "Mummy, I can see that lady's bare bum" the impersonator called, to laughter from all those sharing the joke.
