The Civil War Journals: Delilah

Dearest Diary,

I'm sorry it's been so long since I've written. Everyone says the South is bound to win the war, and all womenfolk hear is the stories of success on the battlefield. But Daddy isn't back, and Charlie continues to ineffectually run the plantation. Even the detestable Wade Lancaster remains at war, small blessing that is. I fear for us and our way of life.

I've tried so hard to protect Delilah from the temptations that abound with Samson, but I fear that both she and myself may inevitably succumb lest the menfolk finally return and take their place. But by the way she moans in need late at night, that precipitates my own needs, I fear it is far too late already.
