Chapter 82 by Sidian Sidian

Is this the end?

The Circle of Six.

The King of Rathkin and his circle are sitting at a table, sharing drinks and discussing their options. The circle of six consist of Himself, King Rathkin, leader of the realm. Lord Edmin, Rathkin's strongest tactician. Commander Rixx, Rathkin's strongest general. Lady Valisi, a negiotiator of Rathkin. Lord Krom, he is the main person who controls all the trades within the lands, this allows him to have almost unlimited wealth, even more so than the King himself. Lastly, an extremely old gentlemen by the name of Tearis. Tearis grew up with King Rathkin, they were best friends, some people believe social status shouldn't grant privilage to the circle but King Rathkin ignores their plees. Tearis is an old, almost dead geeser, who is cocky, annoying and doesn't give a shit, yet for some reason King Rathkin will sometimes listen to his opinion.

"The Syndicate is walking a tight line my king..." Lord Edmin states "We need to dicuss peace with them or they could attack us at any moment. Their Sunriders can jump into battle almost instantly, taking us out from the edges and working their way in." He has exclusive knowledge as he was originally traded by Errian for peace, but that peace didn't last long. Lord Edmin was one of the brightest minds in the world. His mind was able to visualize the engagement, measure the battlefield, gaze at the weapons in use, calculate defensive or offensive measures, monitor animals in use, and devise the best plan of attack or defense. Many fools ignored Lord Edmin's advice and those fools are now rotting in dungeons or resting in peace. King Rathkin has much respect for his Tactician, so much respect that he was the only one in the circle of six that really stood a chance of changing his mind. When you have that much brain power and wisdow, people should listen to you.

"Lord Edmin is correct." Lady Valisi begins "If we do not start negotiations with the Sicilian Syndicate, between them and Errian they could slowly suffocate our outer regions. The best course of action is to give into the Syndicate's demands and pray to the gods they stop their attacks. It's always a constant battle with Errian..." Lady Valisi pauses "That piece of shit region will never accept our peace so unfortunately our best chance is to side with the Syndicate."

The King takes a sip out of his Goblet and lets a deep breath out of his nostrils. "Any other thoughts?"

"Well..." Lord Edmin begins "Those savages hold control of the desert region. We know the main resource they always need. The main resource they will attack villages for..."

"Water..." King Rathkin whispers to himself

"Water." Lord Edmin says aloud "I suggest, we give them a plot of land on the Turth River." he continues "This will allow them to have as much fresh water as possible, which they can easily bring back to their lands to hydrate their people. A huge offering like that should be more than enough to **** a treaty between our realms."

"Krom? Tearis? Any thoughts?" King Rathkin asks

"Both the Syndicate and Errian leave my trade routes alone." Lord Krom starts "They know I"m Rathkin, but they also know my trade routes bring much needed supplies into their lands. I have no say in the matter."

Tearis just chuckles to himself as he finishes his goblet of wine "Fine by me...give up more land to these savages." he throws his empty goblet to the ground, which is quickly recovered by a housekeeper "Let's just keep giving into more and more demands until what?" he throws his fist on the table "Kill the Syndicate, Kill Errian, take control!" Tearis shouts.

"ENOUGH!" King Rathkin shouts "We don't have the military power to split our forces between the two. We either slowly bleed out against two enemies or we try our best to ally one, slaughter the other, then decide our best option."

Tearis just rolls his eyes, staying silent

The negotiations continue...
