The Cat that knows Better
KuliKuli sighed, dragging her paw over her mate's soft brown hair and receiving a smile in return. She repeated this action a few more times before he chuckled.
She grinned. "What?"
"Your fur is ticklish, that's what. Careful not to flex on me."
"Oh, and do this?" She flexed her paw above his head, revealing those sharp claws at the end. He nodded and stared as she playfully waved it in circles drawing closer and closer to his face.
"Uhh... mercy?" He asked with a nervous looking smile. She pretended to think it over before booping his nose and retracting her claws.
"Pow, and he is done for. That's how we'll beat that boo-hoo-man."
"Haha, you have it all figured out huh?"
"Don't I ever?" They chuckled together and held each other close, the slight thumping sound past the closed door going unnoticed.
Emyri rubbed her forehead, looking up to catch a shocked woman darting her eyes from the Nekomata on the ground to the door she swung open with unintentional strength.
"Eh, warui warui. I didn't catch you there." She said, extending a hand to lift her onto her feet with a soft grunt.
Emyri hissed slightly at the red mark on her head. "I would say you caught me rather good. What did you say?"
Reta's nose twitched, that was an odd catch. Something smelled like female hormones and sex. Glancing at the ground, she noticed a few wet spots near Felix's bedroom door just several feet down the hallway. Not close enough to see if they were fresh, but catching a wet spot on the carpet is evident enough that it was recent. What was she doing here?
She blinked before noticing the Nekomata staring with a confused look.
"Huh? It means sorry, uh is Felix and KuliKuli... I mean are Felix and uh, are they in their room?" She asked, silently cursing at her stupid head for fumbling her speech like that. Bakayaro.
Emyri nodded. "Yes there in theirrrr- just a moment!" She stepped into her way, blocking her from proceeding through that door. "I just remembered, they're sleeping so it is better not to disturb them."
"Sleeping?" Reta raised an eye. "This early? KuliKuli is a late sleeper."
"Well, today must have left her quite exhausted I suppose."
"You suppose. Well did she have her bedtime milk yet?"
Emyri nodded. "I brought it to her so yes." Stupid, why did you just say that? The way she is looking at me, I feel as if I am sweating pounds! Her nose won't stop flaring, does her canine smell stick to her in human form as well??
"Great, well okay then. I guess I'll just go for a walk or whatever."
"Sounds nice, oh-uh do be careful!" She shouted as Reta walked away before cupping her mouth. Crap, they definitely heard that. Oh dear, bad. That was bad, I should know better.
She breathed in and stood up formally before walking out the door herself. Bad kitty, bad. You should know better. Felt great though... no! Bad! Just, argh! Get those thoughts out of your head, clean up your tails, and do something to keep your mind away. Maybe go... check on Dimyri and see if she is feeling better. Maybe a talk will do her some good.
Emyri sighed as she approached the two front doors, honestly a talk will do us both good. We've been through a lot, and I've asked so much from them. They need me to feel safe, but sometimes it is hard to keep a strong face on. Eventually the mask becomes uncomfortable and starts to falter. No, I'll go talk with her and Syri, and maybe Na'Vi as well if she lets me. She is my daughter to look after even if blood is no factor in this, and she needs someone to listen to her. That look, that face, she was starting to break down. So much stress isn't healthy.
That's it, I've made up my mind. I'm going out there and I'm activating Mother Mode!
She smiled confidently before fumbling with the door knob, son of a-c'mon! Ack! Just... maybe my tails can help? Gur... oh no they're still slippery!!!!
She threw her claws down swiping into the air in frustration, screw it. Where's the woman, Janelle or what's her name? Ugh, I sound so horrible forgetting her name, I need to be better.
I should know better.
