Chapter 3

What's next?

The Carolling Competition

"That bitch!" Trixie snapped as she stomped into the kitchen of the house that she shared with her roommates, Ellen and Heather.

"What now, Trix?" Ellen asked as she and Heather sat on the couch, flipping through channels.

"I'll tell you what!" Trixie snapped, "That stuck up, prissy bitch Britney and her roommates are carolling in our neighborhood this year!"

"And this is our problem because?" Heather asked, not looking up from her magazine.

"Because carolling is our thing!" Trixie replied, "And when I told her that, you know what she said?! She said that she was going to make it so the neighbors would be begging for them to do it every year! And do you know how they said they were going to do it?"

"... Am I correct in guessing that you'll just continue with your rantings if we told you that we don't care what your annoying rival does?" Heather asked, finally looking up and looking at her roommate in annoyance.

"They're going to be doing it in Christmas themed bikinis!"

"That answers my question..."

"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Ellen exclaimed, turning off the TV as she looked up at Trixie. "Bikinis?! It's gonna be, like, forty degrees on that night!"

"I know!" Trixie exclaimed. "And the worst part is is that they're going to actually succeed if they go through with it! So I told them that we were going to one up them before they even got a chance this year! The problem is..." She sighed as she plopped down into an arm chair, "I have no idea how."

"Yeah, that does seem kinda hard to top." Ellen replied with a shrug.

"You know, unless we go carolling naked." Heather joked, Ellen and her laughing like mad at the very idea before they turned to Trixie...

Their laughter slowly dying as they saw Trixie twirl a strand of her blonde hair as she arched an eyebrow and bit the inside of her lip; a look that the two knew that their roommate gave when she was considering something.

"Um, Trix...?" Heather asked nervously. "Trixie? I... I was only joking."

"Carolling naked... Naked carolling..." Trixie muttered, a smile soon coming to her face. "Yeah. Yeah! That would totally one up them!"

"Hell! No!" Ellen shouted, getting to her feet. "I am not prancing around naked through the neighborhood in forty degree weather just you can one up that annoying woman who doesn't even live here!"

"Well, just hear me out here." Trixie said, "What if we weren't completely naked... Per se?"

"Oh, and just what would we be wearing?" Heather asked, almost afraid to hear Trixie's answer.

"We still have those left over garland, bows, and Santa hats, right?"

"Oh, well in that case..." Ellen began with a smile... Before donning a sour look and saying, "Pass!"

"But if we -"

"Trixie. No." Heather spat, "Up until now, we have put up with your wild ideas because the house is in your name, but we are not doing this. And there's no way, in Heaven, Earth, or Hell that you are going to make us!"

"I cannot believe that you managed to talk us into this!" Heather spat as she, Ellen, and Trixie were dressed in the exact "outfits" that the latter had described before.

"Hey, Mom! I can't make it to Christmas dinner next week. Why? Because my idiot roommate got us arrested for indecent exposure while doing a stupid carolling competition." Ellen said to herself, imagining how the conversation from the police station would go. "I might be able to make it if you or Dad bailed me and Heather out. It'll be the best Christmas present this year!"

"Oh, will you two calm down? We're not doing this completely naked!" Trixie said as she set up a camera and got between her roommates; Heather on the left and Ellen on the right. "Now smile!"

The camera's flash went off just as Heather and Ellen put on **** smiles.

"Remind me what the picture was for again?" Ellen said with annoyance.

"Memories."

"It's bad enough most of our neighbors are gonna remember this." Heather groaned, "I most certainly don't!"

"C'mon now! Where's your Christmas spirit?" Trixie asked.

"Oh, gee! I must have left it in my other pants."

"Oh, let's just get to carolling!" Trixie exclaimed as she hooked her arms onto Heather and Ellen's. "The sooner we knock Britney off her pillar, the better!"

How does carolling go?
