The Captain's Request

"What would you have me do?"

She gestures to her First Mate, a young woman in her mid-twenties with long auburn hair and a faint scar running down the right side of angelic face. She stands nearly an inch taller than the Captain, but leaner, with obvious muscle definition through her tight leather clothes.

You've seen the woman around, but between the Captain, Anna, and the twins you realize that you still haven't been formally introduced to the second most powerful woman on the ship.

"Haley and I are lovers," the Captain confides, "She and I grew up together as orphans on the streets of Rebel Bay."

Haley gives the Captain a look of surprise, but Cate's holds up her hand to silence the other woman.

"Everybody knows Haley."

"Captain, he..." Haley stammers, but Darkwater cuts her again.

"Haley prefers the company of women and has, to my knowledge, never been with a man."

"More like never had any desire to," the First Mate sniffs, "Still don't."

"Nevertheless," the captain says, turning to the other woman, "This man is different than all the others and I would share this experience with you."

Haley's face reddens at the implication, "Cate, I don't begrudge you your attraction to men..." Haley drops all semblance of formality, "Nor do I attempt to stand in the way of your indulgences, but I have made it very clear that I will not participate in your... trysts."

"Haley," the Captain says softly, gently clasping the auburn haired woman's hand, "I love you, and I would have you with us tonight, watching at the very least."

"I...." she says through gritted teeth.

"For me." The Captain implores.

Haley looks at the Captain then out to sea, "For you."

"Thank you." The Captain says and kisses the taller woman on the lips.
