The Better Target
"Faith?" Douglas asked, seeing her on a bench outside the local community college. He acted surprised to see her, but in truth he'd been searching for the shy redhead.
"Mr. Lancaster? Oh my God!" Faith squealed, hugging the older man. "Oh my God, I've missed you."
"How are the kids?" he asked, genuinely curious.
"Oh, um, Miss Castle moved off, and Mr. Moses doesn't need a babysitter," she said, tucking her hair behind her head.
"Oh," Douglas said, flummoxed. The child support was still going to the old house. "And any men in your life?"
"Oh, no ... I was dating Chris Abbott for a minute, but he's ... well, a boy. So no men," she finished lamely.
"Well, I got an idea if you want a date ..." Douglas said, telling her the good things about Antoine Jefferson.
