The Barbecue

Before long the 20th rolls around and Jason and Lily are getting ready for their barbecue, Jason prepares the grill getting the marinated meat out of the fridge and making sure the paper plates are ready and all side dishes are ready. "Hey how do I look?" Lily asks coming down the stairs, Jason looked at his wife and she was a vision her black hair tied up into a simple ponytail and was dressed in a nice sundress, her large breasts filled out the dress wonderfully and it showed off her hourglass figure, "you look incredible baby" Jason answers honestly. Jason and Lily sort out the sides, once guests arrived Jason would probably have to start grilling which would mean that Lily would be left to navigate the party herself and given Lily's meek nature Jason imagined that she would probably just glom onto whoever arrived first and was introduced to her by Jason, he just hoped it would be someone Lily could get along with.

It's around midday when the first guest arrives, Jason goes to answer the door and to his dismay it was Ray standing there, of course it would be him, not someone who Jason wanted. "Hey Ray come in, this is my wife Lily. Lily this is my boss Ray" Jason says introducing them, the three chat for a bit while Jason stews "Of course it's this asshole, I wanted my wife to make new friends and Ray is just the worst person for that" he thinks to himself, also it was bad because no doubt once Lily can't just hang out with Ray because that guy is insufferable, so his wife would have to branch out and introduce herself to people and Lily really was quite socially awkward. This felt like worst case scenario and before long more people arrive and Jason goes to his station manning the grill, "god I just hope Lily is gonna be ok" Jason wanted his wife more than anything to make friends.

As the barbecue progresses lots of work people show up with their significant others, but unfortunately it seemed Jason's instincts were dead on the money as almost every time he saw his wife she was with Ray, Jason did see her talking to most people at least but it was majority her and Ray or a group which included both her and Ray. Jason was sort of alarmed at the fact that his wife hadn't blown him off, "like can she not tell the guys an asshole" Jason thinks as he cooks up burgers, he does consider the likely outcome that she knows but is too awkward to split off, but as a counterpoint Lily didn't look upset in fact she seemed to be having a great time. Jason wished he could leave his duties to check in but unfortunately there were a lot of hungry mouths and with such a small grill Jason found that he could do little else but cook, thankfully some of the more chill guys from the office thought to come and keep him company so he's not isolated but still this wasn't ideal in Jason's mind.
