Checking in with Lily

Once the last of the guests had left Jason and Lily finally had some time together, "oh that was great, I had so much fun, thank you" Lily says practically jumping into Jason's arms. Instantly Jason knew that this whole thing was worth it, "glad you had a nice time, we should invite people over more often" he says knowing that it would make Lily happy and if he invited smaller groups he would actually be able to take part. "Yeah that sounds really good, we should invite Ray round for dinner one night" Lily says enthusiastically, "RAY???" Jason asked in sheer confusion, "yeah why what's up with Ray?" Lily asks confused, Jason wants to go to town shredding Ray's character and letting his wife know what an arrogant bastard he was but he decides it's best to not shit on his wife's enthusiasm, "he's just my boss, you know it could look weird. Like I'm gunning for a promotion by weaseling my way in" he says hoping to placate her. "Well as long as you don't do it often, it should be fine right baby" She says, Jason wants to argue but he doesn't want to ruin her mood, "yeah I guess so" Jason says begrudgingly.

Jason and Lily tidy up after the party and Lily regales Jason with conversations she's had, lots of them involve Ray and his stories, now knowing Ray's character as well as he did he was certain in all the stories of Ray delivering a hard truth to some asshole or otherwise being the hero, were fabrications or more likely Ray being an asshole and re-framing the story so he was the good guy. Jason listens intently while he tidies up, as much as Jason disapproved of her company this was the most excited and animated that Lily had been since the move. Jason smirks as he watches his wife talk, "what?" Lily asks, "nothing you just look so happy, I've missed that look" Jason answers honestly, Lily blushes "well that's thanks to you, so thank you" she says pulling Jason in for a hug. "You know I'd do anything for you" Jason says as he hugs his wife but this tender moment is spoiled by the realisation he was telling the truth which meant he would have to invite Ray to dinner soon.
