The Audition

Emily sat naked on her bed and sighed.

She had showered and fixed her hair and make-up and was trying to decide what to wear to her audition. She had an audition for yet another G-rated saccharine Hallmark movie. She would rather being doing edgier Sundance type movies, but she was not getting the offers. She got up and went to her underwear drawer. "Fuck," she said after she opened it. She had forgotten her maid was on vacation. Emily was supposed to do the laundry but forgot, so she had no clean panties. She shrugged. She put on a pink flora print bra then added a long-sleeve dark pink silk blouse that came down to the top of her hips. She pulled on a long, flowing floral print skirt. She reached behind her to zip it up then button it, not realizing some of the threads of the button had come loose, and it was barely hanging on.

She put on a pair of white sandals. "Let's get this fucking dog and pony show over with. Oh sorry, let's get this dang dog and pony show over with." She grabbed her purse and went out and got into her car. As she sat in the car, the threads on the button of her skirt were strained.
