The Assassin

Salazar moved quickly and silently, leaving the rest of the group behind and following in the direction the assassin went. She was difficult to track through the underbrush, his eyes were darting in all directions trying to find her. Suddenly, just when he moved past a particularly large tree, a shadow suddenly rushed towards him. He barely managed to move his head in time, so the assassins blade missed his neck. She landed on a branch and rose to face the young summoner, “Did you think you could sneak up on me? How does an imbecile like you make enough noise to attract a sage’s attention?”.

The blackened leather tightly hugging her curvy body perfectly accentuated her feminine features. Angry green eyes stared daggers into him from between her hood and mask.

*I WANT HER*

She jumped again, but this time Salazar was prepared. Her eyes went wide when a net of white strings appeared between her and her target, but she couldn’t change her trajectory mid-air. She landed in the net, her momentum causing it to swing back and forth while free strings immediately wrapped around her body. Within a few seconds she was left to helplessly struggle against the rope, spreadeagle and suspended about thirty feet off the ground. “How is this possible?!”, she furiously threw herself against her bondage, “Nobody can react to my speed! How did you do that?”.

Salazar wasn’t so sure himself, but it was clear the bargain with Urien had given him more than just control of the magical rope. His senses were heightened, he could feel the other four approaching from at least a mile away. The speed of a high-level assassin looked unimpressive to him; even her surprise attack on him had failed. In a day of many smiles so far, Salazar couldn’t help but smile again.
