Anno 75 M a typical mega-city is dominated by a mega-corp. The exception is Mythica Central. Because both the Eye of Knowledge and the Mythica Council are at the same site the place has a more balanced feel to it.

By now a typical megacity has a tiered layout and almost all megacities have adopted a more or less concentric layout unless the lay of the land makes this really impossible.

The highest buildings are usually found at mega-corps enclaves serving as offices for their employees. At the foot of them you can find a ring with the accommodations for the employees.
On the next circle outwards are the smaller enterprises, the so-called mini-corps, and another ring with accommodations for their employees.
Further outwards are the artisans, craftsmen and other services a city needs to thrive.
The penultimate circle is made up of the enclaves of other non-human races who left their Waking Grounds and flocked to the mega-cities (provided they don’t take up residence in an employee accommodation) and people who had nowhere else to stay.
The outer edges of the mega-cities are formed by the agricultural lands on one side and, if prevalent, heavy industries on the other side of the city.

Beyond that is the mega-city region, a convenient geographical designation for the off-grid territories where you find the autark homesteads and settlements. Mind you they do have access to the Grid (the planet-wide computer network) but that’s about it.
Once you leave the agricultural and industry zones behind you you are on your own. You better have some sturdy wheels under your butt because laser-leveled streets are something you will only find within a mega-city. Or a good outdoor survival kit. And preferably both.

The Waking Grounds layouts however are as diverse as there are races. Because each race organizes their towns, cities, whatever you called it according to their own preferences.
